ctv and cbs were not showing the same programming, you arent allowed to simsub different programming..unless your CTV I guess..

Oh, ok... yes, I don't know why the programs were different. That still doesn't make sense to me.

Is there anyway I can see the Super Bowl on Sunday with US commercials on Cogeco, and if so on what channel?
At the present moment channel 232 (Kiro) is the CBS feed. The other US feeds (HD and SD) are all CTV

Looks like BellTV is also simsubbing Quebec customers on the new platform.

Had to go to Future Shop and grab an RCA indoor antenna to catch WCAX-3.

Gotta love Future Shop's 30 day return policy...! :)

I am watching the CBS feed here in London Ontario using my 7.5ft C-Band satellite dish with a Hi-Def Free-To-Air receiver. The good old C-Band dish is still #1 in my books when it comes to signal quality :) I am too far away from Erie PA to pull in the signal using rabbit ears..

So are there unecrypted CBS HD feeds available on C-Band?

Surprised that CTV managed to get that "NFL on CBS" logo removed in the bottom right corner to replace with their own logo.... but it just says "CTV"... why don't they have an "NFL on CTV" logo??

I guess they upgraded from MS-Paint in the sense they just didn't cover it up with an opaque logo, and have a clean feed. But maybe they aren't creative enough to make an NFL on CTV logo... that takes a lot of original creativity, something we know CTV doesn't have!!!

Well, "CBS" starts with "C", so if they can find someone with Photoshop maybe they can alter the last 2 letters in their favor! They might get sued by CBS, but hey! That's a good thing!

If 'A' Channel isn't broadcasting the SuperBowl, it doesn't matter who owns it. They can't simsub with another distant CTV channel. That assumes that London is outside the broadcast range of the nearest CTV channel.

They simsubed ctv bc during the nfc Saints/Vikes game for mer although not station in Newfoundland broadcast the game.

I'm guessing CTV is leeching directly from the CBS Backhaul feed from Miami rather than the CBS network feed proper - that would explain the lack of the "NFL on CBS" bug, plus I notice the CFTO-HD feed is several seconds ahead of the WBZ-HD and KIRO-HD channels on my digital cable.

jcice:

So I take it Eastlink has switched from a Bell feed to a Shaw Direct feed? We used to have Eastlink here but I switched to Shaw Direct because the HD feeds in Eastlink were from Bell... it really sucked. I might consider switching back to Eastlink now...

@CrazyInSane - I can't say for certain if Shaw is the current HD provider of signals for Eastlink, but I can tell you I have seen ZERO simsubs on Eastlink's HD channels since at least the summer, including today's Super Bowl.

I can confirm this as well

I was watching the pre game on CBS Buffalo with an OTA antenna but all of a sudden I lost the signal. Is it posible to blackout OTA??? Anybody in Toronto able to pickup CBS Buffalo?

Signal strength is close to 0. Every other channel is fine. Very weird. I don't think CBS Buffalo is having technical difficulties just now with the game about to start

No they are not having any issues, crystal clear here.
But the sun is going down, so likely your seeing the affects
of varying propagation this time of day. Tweak your Antenna I guess...

I tried tweaking the antenna but no luck. I can't beleive it's the only channel that is out for me right now. In the afternoon signal stregth was good even having the antenna indoors.
