Can someone who subscribes confirm if they are receiving the new channels: CNN HD, CNN Int'l, AMC, AMC HD, TCM, TCM HD since Telus sat operates from the Bell feed?

It is very strange that Bell/Telus do not let Customers know in advance what new Channels are coming up. I never watch the "Whats New Channel" I prefer to watch the channels I pay for.

If I recall correctly when I had Star Choice, I used to get an e-mail type message on the Receiver.

Forget it, I can't remember the last time I got a message on my receiver from Star.

I got a message on my receiver last month from Shaw Direct, also one in September.

So what were the messages?

I believe they were:

1) Free installation with your first 530.

2) NFLST & NHLCI for $29.99/month.

I'm pretty sure they gear messages to the subscriber.

Can I assume correctly that when you received the message you did not have a PVR?

The last message I remember receiving was telling me that TV Land was being yanked. Funny thing is that they didn't say anything about the other channels being yanked, only the one I was subscribed to. The other funny thing is that I received the message on only one of my six receivers and it was the HAFH receiver. Go figure.

Well that message did come only on my 505, but I already had two 530s.

The NHLCI/NFLST package came on the two 530s and my 505.

When I had Shaw Direct(Star Choice) for the past 3 years, I rarely got mail on my 505 receiver, and never for new channels that were coming up. I always would check on here to see if any were going to be coming up. Think of all the people that aren't on here, they probably don't know they even have the new channels. Telus/Bell are better with their info channels than Shaw Direct is. I have been recording shows for the past few months on the 9241 and my wife and I couldn't be happier with Telus and the equipment. My 505 HD receiver from Shaw Direct used to crash about every 1 or 2 weeks, so had to do a soft reset everytime that would happen. Off topic a little bit, sorry.

What is with CNN HD? There is NO HD on the channel, at least not that I have seen so far. What a waste of bandwidth, I'm not going to watch Americans news for a very long period of time anyways...should have got CTV news channel in HD, instead...if they have it in HD.

No, CTV News Channel is not available in HD yet. I would like that too, should be coming soon though. They got all the necessary permissions from CRTC last year I think.

I don't have Telus sat but I know it based on BTV. Does Telus carry the exact same line up as BTV subs or are the certain channels missing?

Anyone know if Telus Satellite TV will be offering "The Hub", the new Hasbro channel?
I want to see the new transformers series. :)

http://hubworld.com/

The Wiki says it's the same broadcast license as Discovery Kids, effectively the same channel, but then I got confused as I heard Nickelodeon Canada was Discovery Kids.

I haven't seen any news that this channel will be carried anywhere in Canada. As has been mentioned, Telus satellite is a re-branding of Bell satellite and only carries what Bell carries.

The "Discovery Kids" brand is going away. In Canada it became Nickelodeon Canada. in the U.S. it will become "The Hub".

Even if The Hub is not carried in Canada, Canadian channels buy individual programs for broadcast in Canada.

Anyone know if SportsNet One will be available on TELUS satellite?

Since Telus satellite is the same as Bell satellite, Telus will have it as soon as Bell does.

Okay then, does anyone know if SportsNet One will be available on BEV?
