: Guide Isn't Loading Past 4pm (PST) Saturday...
TheHans 2010-01-01, 06:10 PM OK, we all know how the guide doesn't load for many days in advance, only for about 2.5 days. But since the other day, when it should have loaded to 4am Sunday, it only loaded to 4pm Saturday. When it did its reload overnight (Friday at about 1am), it only went to 4pm Saturday again. I unplugged the receiver this morning to generate the guide reload and also went to the hidden menus and Diagnostic F to generate the reload. In both cases, I waited that 45 minutes on one channel, etc., but it still went only to 4pm Saturday.
I called tech support earlier today and the guy wanted to do a full factory reset. I found this a bit extreme, plus I couldn't do it anyway because I was in the middle of recording something. I called back a short while ago and the tech guy went off to check something out then came back and said there's currently a problem with the guide loading past 1.5 days. He said that even the receivers there are only loaded for 1.5 days. But he said this has been a problem since mid-December, though I never had it until a couple of days ago.
So, I guess I'll generate a reload after 4pm today. In theory, that should bump me up to 4am Sunday. If this is an ongoing problem, surely others have it, right? So, my question is -- has anyone else been experiencing this?

Yup! Same problem here for me. Both of my 530 and 505 receivers don't have guide data past Saturday 7pm ET - the exact same time that it started missing guide data since yesterday as well. I did a soft reset this morning to no avail.
PaulC 2010-01-01, 06:20 PM Yeah, Same prob here. But don't worry, the new (yet to arrive) 2 week guide will solve this problem!!
Same here only 24 hours of guide.
Looks like a server need to be reset.

LOL -- good to know we're all suffering together. :-) I guess I'll do that 9-7-7 hidden menu -- Diagnostic F -- push "Info" thingie to generate the guide download after 4pm to give me until 4am Sunday.

I don't think that's going to work. I think the problem is on Shaw Direct's side. But do let us know if it does anything.
NB Josh 2010-01-01, 08:17 PM Yea it is a Shaw Direct problem. None of my receivers (3 317s, 1 505) are loading past 8:00 AST tomorrow night. I tried unplugging one of them for about 15 minutes, the guide reloaded, but again only until 8:00 tomorrow night. I also only noticed the problem yesterday, and I go 2 days ahead a lot, especially during Christmas to see what specials are on.
Yep, whatever gathers the guide data and adds it to the stream must be down.

Well, it didn't work. :-) I thought it might as at 4pm today, the 1.5 days Shaw said it would load to should have loaded it to 4am Sunday. But it didn't. It's still at 4pm Saturday. And it's the same for the 505 and the 530. It will be interesting to see what it does when that guide signal comes in at 1am. If anyone decides it's worth it to try a factory reset, please post the results, if you don't mind.
I didn't even know who the Leafs were playing tomorrow until I went online. :-)

Thanks for letting us know it didn't work. The normal guide data is 2.5 days not 1.5.
noah12 2010-01-01, 11:20 PM Yup approx 1.5 days for me too, not the first time this has happened.

hiker 2010-01-02, 08:37 AM Back to normal 2.5 days for me.
Is there any way to jump ahead 2 days while viewing the guide, other than using the right arrow 30 min for each key press?
GaryE 2010-01-02, 08:56 AM Press the fast forward key while the guide is up to go ahead 6 hours or the skip ahead button to go ahead 1 day. The same thing with the reverse buttons but you can't go back past the current time.
