Research In Motion Ltd., the maker of the BlackBerry phone, said subscribers in the Americas are facing service delays, the second disruption in less than a week. (http://www.businessweek.com/news/2009-12-23/rim-reports-second-blackberry-outage-within-a-week-update2-.html)

Engineers are working to resolve the breakdown, according to an e-mailed statement today from the Waterloo, Ontario-based company.

they blamed BBM the cause of the problem and a mass pin msg instructing everyone to upgrade theyre bbm

Which would be easy if the BB AppWorld wasn't such a piece of crap. My Bold 9000 always requires multiple attempts and battery pulls when I try to upgrade software using AppWorld.

RIM needs to take some serious lessons from Apple when it comes to handheld software.

Yea those 2 outages in a week sucked.
I still find things slow, might be the holidays but just takes for ever to send a message.
I am doing a battery pull and cache clear daily :(

the first outage only affected bis users. im a bes user, so i didnt evne know there was a first outage this week untill i read this post. just because it afects bis only doesnt mean its a full fledged outage. the second one affected all blackberry functions, so yeah i only experienced one outage.
