Dan that's KBTC on K24IC-D with the power amplifier problem?

From KBCBYes thats correct.
Both 19.1 and 24.1 2 and 3 all went down due to it so it was in an area they all depend on.

from KBCB this morning.....

There is a bad power supply in one of the amps up there so K24IC is
presently off the air. We should have it back on at 50% power by
sometime later today or tomorrow, and at full power once we replace the
bad power supply.

I just checked and all four are back up here in Coquitlam, the signal seems as strong as it usually is (19.1 and 24.1,.2,.3). Any more word on that HD channel for 19.1 yet?

Included in the network's initial offerings will be such classic sitcoms as Three's Company, All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Benny Hill, Maude, The Nanny, Married with Children, Too Close for Comfort, The Partridge Family, Dennis the Menace, The Donna Reed Show and The Three Stooges. Antenna TV also will show movies in daytime.Awesome can't wait MWC is a classic

19.1 is down for me. Used to be the shopping channel. 28.1, 28.2 and 28.3 came back today but lost 24.1 and 24.2. When I enter those channels on my remote it automatically sends me to 28.1. Is this correct or is my Sony tv just screwed up?

You may have to rescan if they are still missing, unless you have a marginal signal which is affected by the rain storm. I still have all four signals (KCBC, KBTC 1,2 and 3). The signal may be a little weaker tonight, but that could be the weather. 28.1, .2, .3 are on 24 actual and Shopping is on 19.1 and is only a single signal (the tv lists it as 24.1)

KBTC 24.1 looks like the new power amp has been installed this morning.

In addition to the new 24.2 and 24.3 audio/visual channels. I'm seeing three new audio-only feeds on KBCB's .4, .5 and .6 channels.

I am pretty sure we can expect 24.3 and maybe 24.4 to be the functioning subs.
The three additional stations ( 24.5 / 24.6 / 24.7 ) are cd quality audio only imputs on thier new encoder. Still neat to see so many stations listed in the scan :)

Anyone have an idea what KBCB is planning on doing with the new subcarriers? I am receiving 24-1 through 24-6. Let's hope they can be more imaginative than additional merchandising channels.

Wikipedia offers a possible answer:

" The station's over-the-air transmission currently has no sub-channels, but the station has been upgrading its transmitter to accommodate subchannels and has been looking for parties interested in occupying a sub channel."

Judging by the current stable of content present on KBCB's owner's site (WN.com), I would not hold out for great quality programming.

Has anyone found that since KBCB added the sub channels the signal strength seems a little weaker? I used to get it much stronger than the rebroadcast of KBTC and it's sub channels, but not anymore-are they operating at reduced strength or is it just in my area?

I have not seen a signal drop. Just checked it.

One thing I don't get. Isn't this station affiliated with NBC (through ShopNBC)? The Wikipedia article includes the NBC peacock logo on the right and refers to the channel. And if that is the case, is there a chance that NBC might actually put some network broadcasting on one of the sub-channels?

OK, most likely wishful thinking on my part, but I thought I would ask the obvious question.

Or am I just dreaming in HD? :)

Yes and I am in a high signal strength area for OTA (Bellingham and Mt Seymours channels at 100% typically). It could be because of the recent cold snap or interference from local signal(s).

Just to add, with a 91XG in the attic, over a 4 month period KBCB was typically coming in at 100% signal strength, but the past few days, with an M4 outside over roof, KBCB has complete drop-off for each night for 2-3 hours. Looks like a 2 antenna setup could be needed for stable year round reception at this location.

KBCB 19.1 signal strength has not been altered by the encoder adding the extra subs not only has it been the same for me but talking with KBCB directly I asked the same question and the thing is the band width is divided up into segments ( subs ) but the traminssion power remains the same.
