Hi, I'm detecting KBCB-DT's digital carrier on 19 but I never lock on it, so they're still up as far as I know.

As of 132pm I am getting perfect the station was off a couple of days ago as there was a power problem and a tech had to be sent to manually throw on the power.

In Dec. 2007, Gerry B mapped out the theoretical OTA signal strength received from a SEATAC station over the Lower Mainland. The map actually consisted of two pictures.

I've put the pictures together into one map. It shows the areas in the Lower Mainland where OTA reception from Seattle might be particularly favourable. Some of the forum members may find it useful.

The map can be uploaded from this link:

After downloading the file, you have to add the .pdf suffix to the file name to open it with Adobe Reader.

Here is a first for me I am getting KCPQ anologue the quality is poor and it is fade in fade out just thought I'd mention it as it is unusual for me. Digital 18.1 is not locking at this time

Well in the next short while (month or so I would guess.... but I will find out more soon) KVOS DTV will be changing thier PSIP generator.

Well with some luck we will all be a little PBS via the skip that is coming
The evening update shows a real good few days.

Thanks Whidbey. I guess we can only hope that when SeaTac stations boost their digital ERP after Feb 2009, we may be able to pick up a few more. I can get KONG and KIRO analogue (although grainy) reliably here in North Van. I did get all the SeaTac-DT stations during one exceptional troposphere evening last summer. It' s frustrating being at the very edge of reception, but clearly amazing to me that it's possible to get any SeaTac stations over-air from this distance. The other DT channel which I can get reliably is the Tacoma religious station KTBW, with its 5 subchannels, but it not programming I usually want to watch.

It keeps getting weirder and weirder I had CHAN 22 on 22 remap to 8.1 and even 22 remap to 22.1 all is cool then the skip started coming on I lost CHAN around the very same time I started getting KCPQ DTV steady mmm of course I tried everything to get CHAN then I did the unbelieveable I read the info file at the software site okay here is the scoop the software is WatchHDTV and by changing from positive to negative (The subchannel will be 1(or -1) for the main HD channel) It came back on both and KCPQ DTV is fine too? The EasyHDTV did not loose CHAN DTV during this time?

Well clearly Vic was up in the wee hours doing more adjustments that explains the need for my new settings. I suspect a long week end promted the late night adjustments:p ... anyways for me after my setting change in one software the result is the same although I lost the show rating on my tv however. I am curious to hear if others are getting CHAN now that did not and even those that may have had a loss of it too.

2008-06-21, 12:41 PM
I'm also getting KVOS remapping to 35-121.

2008-06-21, 01:57 PM
I wonder if KVOS-DT is working on the new PSIP gear they mentioned in Post #713 and Post #700?

2008-06-21, 03:39 PM
KVOS's digital channel is 35 (.121) remapping to 12.1 ???

2008-06-21, 04:59 PM
This is something happening that Kvos did not do. Strange isn't:p
Now it is back again to 12.1
PSIP generator needed to be reset.

What I have noticed for me Chan 22.2 is gone as the tropo skip grew this morning I got KMYQ 25.1 remap to 22.1 and Chan is history:confused:
I have alot of SeaTac digital and analog though.
927am the skip has slipped away and chan22 returns :)
412pm Myq is back and boom gone is chan so this is now more than an oddity.

Is anyone else picking up KCPQ -DT in Surrey Guildford area. I scanned on Sunday night and got both 13.1 Q13 Fox and 13.2 Weather channel with outdoor antenna just resting against fence at slight angle. :)

Did I just get lucky or was it strong Tropo on Sunday.?

Yesterday I properly installed the antenna on a post about 10' above ground and scanned again but both channels were gone!.

Should I tilt the antenna slightly upwarsd to get better signal or it was just a fluke!.

Sorry but that was just a bit of tropo, although some people in the Lower Mainland do get almost regular locks. ;)
