: Rental receiver to new owner

So I have family that has an extra rental 9200. They are giving it to me. Is it possible to transfer the rent and activate the receiver on my account?

For some reason I have a feeling I can't do this. I know there are contract obligations and my family would be canceling theirs, though as far as Bell is concerned, nothing is changing. They are still getting their rental payments.

edit, I guess the title should technically be "rental receiver to new account" since I won't be owning it.

Rental units cannot be transfered. They must be returned to Bell. Early termination fees may apply if you are not at the end of the contract.

As it is a 9200 I would not imagine they are still on the original 2 year term but may well be on some kind of retention type deal etc.

I would say that at a rental cost of $20 per month, I would be looking to buy a 9200 at this point not rent one.

Shame you are not a new customer as there are a couple of good deals right now for buying a 9200 (refurbished) that I know of.

Just as I feared. I guess my only option is to buy a receiver, but maybe I'll just continue using my ancient 5100 for the time being.

We were wanting to do this mainly so that the 9200 receiver doesn't go to waste, since it's not being used.

Oh well.

If it is not being used they should send it back to Bell and save $20 per month.
