@wing,

You could setup two channel listings then combine them to your output file. To get the OTA channels I wanted listed, and since the standard version doesn't support US ATSC sub-channel OTA listings from a Canadian postal code, I've setup a batch file to:
1) run mc2xml to download the Canadian OTA information from my postal code and save as a intermediate file
2) run mc2xml to download from a US Buffalo Zip code to get information for Time Warner cable and save to an intermediate file
3) Combine the two files together to create my EPG output file

For you, you would use mc2xml to download all your channels how your currently doing it. Then run a second time to download your CBCOT and CityHD from your cable or satellite source, then combine them.

To do all this, you also have to create multiple .dat files (I named mine can.dat for the Canadian stations, and usa.dat for American stations). Dat files are created when first using mc2xml. It will by default save your settings as xmltv.dat, then you just rename the file. You also have to create a channel list file (.chl) for each.

Then follow the example on the mc2xml website:
Can I combine channels from multiple lineups and put them in one xml file?

If you are mindful of duplicate channels when creating your .chl files you can save your lineups to different .dat files and then chain them with the "-I xmlfile" insertion parameter

mc2xml -D NL.dat -C NL.chl -o NL.xml
mc2xml -D UK.dat -C UK.chl -I NL.xml -o UK_NL.xml
mc2xml -D DE.dat -C DE.chl -I UK_NL.xml -o DE_UK_NL.xml

Then, for me, there was additional mapping required in my MediaPortal setup.\

If you have any questions, I'd be glad to help you out, just message me, or send me an email.

Samsung LN32D450: Great EPG. Full description of everything, and can see the full guide. [...] You can view the EPG in three ways:[...]Yeah, I recently acquired a Samsung UN32D4000, I agree the EPG is great; I also like the little touches like the progress bar for currently playing shows, and the ability to browse the EPG for all other channels and timer schedule programs.
Only problem is now I really wish all channels supplied full PSIP EPG listings/descriptions, because I really miss it on the channels without it. :(

After flawless operation for many months both my Sony TV and DTVPal have no program information from any source, either American or Canadian OTA stations. I checked with Rovi, owners of TVGOS, and the only troubleshooting they offer is that I may have had a power disruption.

If I did I never noticed, and even if I did, its been several days and the program information should have been restored by now. Any ideas?

My DTVPal still has data (except for CFTO-DT, which has had issues lately). It sounds like something has definitely happened at your location, either a power outage or signal loss due to antenna aim, etc.

hmm, I noticed my tvlisting are gone for my OTA channels as well. I've been using the 14201 zip code for a few years for the guide (even though i'm in brampton, and only connected to a antenna)

I power cycled the TV last night to see if it populates, but won't be able to check until I get home after work.

My Sony TVGOS hasn't been getting any listings lately too. Wasn't sure if it was only my machine or something else. I was going to try a canadian post code instead of buffalo zip before trying to restore my tv to factory settings.

I changed mine to my actual postal last night will have to check it when I get home today as I still didn't have listing last night from the 14201 zip, sounds like it's possible their stopped broadcasting or a issue with the 14201 zip.

Sounds like the issue is with TVGOS, and not the regular PSIP data that (some) stations send out.

WE don't seem to be getting any program data out of the Calgary stations at all. And it shows the wrong time too, the only one that seems to have the correct time displayed is CICT. This is the same on both the LG LCD, and my Access converter box.

No luck with my regular postal OTA, I have another TV connected to Rogers Cable using a canadian postal which has guide data so it appears this problem is only affecting OTA channels.

Jase88, have you checked lately? I bet if you go out a few days out the data's gone. That's what happened to me on my DTVpal. I reset mine and it will no longer acquire TVGOS. PSIP only now. My guess is that WNED is either having problems with it or has stopped transmitting it. I don't have my USB ATSC tuner at the moment so I can't run TSreader to see what's in the stream. Maybe tomorrow.

Yes, there is definitely an issue with the Buffalo TVGOS feed. I can see the issue now.

I was in contact with WNED this morning and they informed me they are making repairs to the TVGOS encoder. They expect it should be back up in a couple of days. Mystery solved!

As for Rovi support, you can see this is another case where it is next to useless. Why make something up?!? They should have directed you to the local OTA host channel or even checked with it themselves. :-(

Hmm.. I changed my postal back to the real one a few days ago and I never got anything in the form of listin, since I changed the postal back shouldn't it be tryingto get the listings from CFTO-DT or am I mistaken? I think the setup shows 9-1 which should be CFTO but never gets any data, I wonder if only WNED is broadcasting TVGOS and CFTO dosn't? I was using 14201 zip for the past 1.5-2 years

Thanks for the information. In the past two years I have experienced only a couple short interruptions in the TVGOS programming data. If the guide isn’t available soon I may stop watching OTA completely;)

Like 'mvclear' I’ve also tried resetting the guide to a local postal code with no results. Lets hope WNED’s TVGOS encoder is the source of our problem.

I’m curious why I have only found complaints, about a lack of current TVGOS programming data, from north of the boarder if this is a problem originating with WNED.

Next time will contact WNED first (although rabbitears.com says TVGOS is supplied by PBS 17.1 for Buffalo), this is the email reply I received from Rovi:Thank you for contacting CE Technical Support at Rovi. We also received your name and phone # from our Service Provider Support Group regarding this issue.

We are aware of a digital hardware issue at the local broadcast host station for the Buffalo, NY area. Our Broadcast engineers are working with station engineers toward a resolution which we expect to take place within the next week or so.

just curious if anyone knows why NGC (national geographic channel) is now included on the zap2it over the air scheduling for london ontario now ?

I noticed that too. I think it must be part of an advertising deal they have with the channel so they put their listing first regardless of whether you can actually get the channel or not. You definitely need a subscription with cable or satelite to get this channel.

I also saw NGC on ZAP2it yesterday in Mississauga. However, the NGC was not the one that's available on Rogers. It had completely different shows. They were actually worth watching! ;-)

Does anyone have an update on the WNED \ TVGOS situation?
