: CyberLink Media Suite 8 (formerly DVD Suite) launched

Cyberlink, makers of the popular PowerDVD software, today announced the launch of Media Suite 8 Ultra, formerly known as DVD Suite Ultra, an all-in-one software suite for viewing photos, videos, music and movies, and burning data on the PC.

New features include: photo tagging and sorting with face recognition technology, video conversion for mobile devices, ability to review and undo changes via the edit log, and the ability to create customized photo slideshows.

For home theatre enthusiasts, Media Suite also features Blu-ray Disc and DVD playback with upscaling of DVD and the ability to authoring videos and slideshows to Blu-ray Discs, AVCHD discs and DVDs.

CyberLink's Media Suite 8 Ultra is available from the company's website for $130 U.S. More limited Pro and Centra versions will be out soon for $90 and $80 U.S. respectively. Retail versions are expected in store sometime in early 2010.
