Just cruise through all three's rate plans! Are they ever trying to screw us over now before the new guys get in! I notice that Bell no longer has unlimited data plans for windows/palm devices. Neither of the others are providing unlimited data, the rates have gone up in the fact that plans are minus features after the SAF has been removed and the plans adjusted, they just are not going to go down with out our final screwing over!!!

..until the CRTC opens up the market for true competition, we are indeed stuck with what they throw at us...

It's the same old game. Raise rates while you can to build up a war chest. As soon as the competition arrives, use the money to undercut them and watch them go under. Then buy up their assets at pennies on the dollar and jack rates up higher than before. Repeat until monopoly status is achieved.

If you are talking about foreign-owned competitors, it isn't up to the CRTC it is up to the Federal Gov't to change the legislation that requires telecoms to be 80% controlled by CDN shareholders.

The CRTC cannot change the rules; it is only the "court" that determines compliance with the law. I don't expect Parliament to give any priority to changing the foreign ownership rules any time soon.
