I turned my DSR-505 on and the numbers on the front of the receiver Disappeared but the green satellite symbol stayed on then i pressed the Power button again and the green symbol turned off then i pressed it again and it Turned on like normal

Has anybody had this happen to them?

You had a power interrupt of some kind, even a brief one will do it.
