I just got a notice that Bell IPTV will be dropping the "My Home Media" feature from it IPTV offering. Not that I ever used my STB to look at my personal pictures or play music off my PC but can anyone guess why this is being done. The notice from Bell suggests that it is not stable enough to meet their standards. Was it too costly to support none technical users?

I tired it a few times, never had a problem working but thought it was a pretty low quality feature. The pics looked absolutely terrible.

Microsoft should just add whatever they use in the xbox as a media extender into their IPTV platform. Maybe not enough horsepower in the set top box or something.

Now if you could access AVI(DIVX/XVID) and MKV files and play them.. that would be cool.
