I missed it... any channel showing the premiere again before next week's episode?

Rogers On Demand has it: http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive/September2009/02/c9645.html

Not sure about other cable companies.

Doesn't OLN show it?

I enjoyed the first episode. I didn't think eliminating one team within ten minutes was fair and hope they never do that again.

Teams I don't like include Lance/Keri and Mika/Canaan. Right now I'm rooting for the Harlem Globetrotters, "Flight Time" & "Big Easy", Zev/Justin and Gary/Matt.

I'm disappointed at the lack of eye candy

Ehh I'm trying to enjoy this show but I just can't get into it. The lack of HD is a real downer, I used to hate Survivor too but the HD is beautiful so now I watch it and it's yet another "reality drama" but not so bad.

Really how hard can it be to get a decent portable HD camera? They give the winners $1M why not just offer them $999,000 :)

I didn't think it was unfair, as all the teams had an equal chance of moving past that point. Having said that, I also really disliked the concept and thought it was mean-spirited and unnecessarily cruel to do this to a team.

Each team had a fair chance of winning the first task but it wasn't "fair" to us as viewers of the show IMHO.

They should have started with 11 teams (like most years) and not 12.

Anyway, the poker girls couldn't resist stating who they were. The second of fame went to their head and may cost them some allies.

I don't think the new twist was unfair at all. All the teams, except one, will get eliminated. May as well get rid of the weakest before spending money flying them around the world.

Paint a big "L" on their foreheads and send them home.

It depends upon your definition of "weakest". Even the strongest team could have been eliminated because there were only 11 license plates on the wall. It was a crap shoot, just like the Japanese game show where you had to rely on a spinning wheel to get your chance to eat the wasabi.

That's good to know. I didn't realize it was a two hour episode and flipped off at nine to watch Dexter. LOL.

Agree with all of this. However, I would add the poker players to the don't like pile and Meghan/Cheyne to the rooting for pile.

I liked the latest episode. It seemed there were many more tasks to complete compared to the first show. The engaged couple seem to be struggling. I'm sure it could just have been the editing but they sure seemed to be struggling understanding things like unscrewing the the "bullet" to get the clue, missed the clue box etc. If that keeps up they will be going home soon, maybe to separate homes as it seems to be putting a huge strain on the relationship. I'm not sure I'd want to go through the race with my wife either though, although we've been happily married 24 years, we'd probably kill each other :)

I haven't picked a team to root for yet.

The tasks do seem to be harder this season.

Maybe I can't remember last seasons tasks very well, but busting up VCRs and pushing animal statues on little carts don't seem particularly hard to me.

Speaking of which...I though the guy who beat the sh*t out of the VCR, instead of taking it apart shouldn't have gotten his clue, cause he really didn't complete his task properly.

You just had to separate the various types of materials. It isn't like they were going to reuse any of the parts :)

Taking out the screws can be time consuming.....

Agreed...but you were supposed to pile the various materials in specific spots...whereas he had parts flying everywhere.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the last episode was edited poorly and seemed rushed? The background music was very annoying, conversations were hard to hear and the captions weren't up long enough to read in some instances.

No it's not you as we found it to be exactly as you described! I have to have the sound turned up really high when my wife watches TV in the den as she has severe hearing loss in both ears. She wears state of the art hearing aids but she still misses a lot especially when people mumble. I even had a hard time making out the comments made between team members. I thought the choice of the loud, dramatic music playing in the backgound when all they were doing was pulling a small cart or dismantling computers was way over the top.IMHO!

In these circumstances, Closed captioning is your friend.

Right in the first seconds, I noticed the voices were hard to hear. A very poor job of mixing on that episode.

Can't stand the lawyers, Mr. Lion is annoying as hell!
