Can you get BellAliant High speed internet without home phone service? Is it possible, I know you can go this way with Bell in Ontario, but I'm not sure about customers with Bell Aliant in Atlantic Canada.
Thanks

Yes, I used to years ago however they charged an extra $10.00 for the dry-loop fee because of having no phone service. This may or may not changed best to call and inquire.

Yes, I've seen it done, and to my knowledge there was no dry loop fee, but don't quote me on that.

You definitely can have High Speed, and even BellAliant TV without having home phone service.

AFAIK home telephone service is required to subscribe to BellAliant TV service. Believe me I tried and inquired afterwards and it is a requirement. Also, I'm assuming the OP lives in Atlantic Canada. I live in N.B. and the last time I had a dry-loop (2007 - May 2008) I was charged a $10.00 fee for having no dialtone. Like mentioned, best to call in and inquire. BellAliant runs it's business different here in the Atlantic provinces than it does in Ontario.

My apologies, I was actuall in NL at the time. For some reason I thought the TV service could be had without home phone, since it just went through the internet. I must have heard it somewhere, but I have only actually seen the internet service without home phone, didn't actually see the TV service with no phone.

Call and ask for POT's Free Service, that's High-speed without Local Telephone Phone. There is a $10.00 Network Access Fee applied, but it's waived if you have Bell Cellular service bundled. If you hiss and fight or threaten to leave they should also be able to waive the $10.00 fee. For some student promotions they also waive it right off the bat.

AliantTV is/was offered to certain customers without Local Telephone service if you live in certain buildings (*cough*Killiam Ethernet Wired Buildings*cough*) due to contractual agreements. Aliant will most definitely do wide-market TV without phone (they have to) - the only question is when.

I'm on Ultra internet via a dry loop. There is a $10 charge. My location is Moncton.
