: Enabling IR Reception on Bell 6100

Hey everyone, I hope you guys can help me out.

I have a Slingbox setup on my Bell 6100 which can only be operated by IR blasters, we have the bell reciever set to remote address 1 and everything works fine, but now our neighbours are also using a UHF remote on address 1 and they are controlling our reciever (changing channels). When we change the remote address on the reciever we can no longer control the slingbox via laptop/computer.

Is there any other way to get IR reception working on the reciever on any channel other than address 1?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Maybe you could ask the neighbour to change his address yourself, if he aggree.

If your neighbour is changing the channels, they must be using a UHF Remote, therefore, why not remove the UHF Antenna from behind the 6100, that should stop it.

I would think if you change the address it aaffects both UHF and IR.

The solution would be to reprogram the Slingbox to have the alternate address.
