Hey i tried lookin thru the threads, but i lost half my channels, like dicovery, oln half the cbc, ctv, etc,

Right now I switched back to a round dish to get some signal,

I had an elliptical but the same thing happened (had to try to re align because lost everything on the elliptical)

does shaw only broadcast half the channels from each sat, and i have to use an elliptical?

any help would be awesome

Thanks

They transmit most of the HD and French from the other satellite (111 slot). 350 is there, and an indication you are getting that satellite.

You might have a polarity issue also. 500 and the 900s are vertical, the Chum/City Toronto (Much, Space, CITY) and Halifax channels are horizontal. Check to see you get those.

does the round dish have a stacked lnb? if there was some confusion while you were talking to a csr, you might have the wrong v-code in your receiver.
if you have more than 1 receiver there is a possiblity that you have 1 receiver powering the lnb and the receiver that has the problem can't get a dc voltage up to the lnb due a bad connection or splitter in the line. when this happens the problem receiver will give you only channels that are on the vertical polarity. to see if this is what's wrong put the problem receiver on a channel that does work and then unplug the other receiver(s) from power. if the problem receiver cuts out as soon as the other one powers down, you likely have a bad connection. if the problem receiver keeps working and the v-code is correct for the type of dish it is hooked up to, you might have too long a cable length or the cable has a high resistance or there might be a splitter hiding somewhere in that cable run.
