You may want to revise your decision and options... your 9242 and 9200 are dual tuner, dual output receivers,, the difference is one is mpeg2 and one is mpeg2\4 decoding.. Telus is indeed using the same receiver as Bell is.. the 9241 and 6131 as that is only what they offer now, 9241 is a dual tuner receiver,, but outputs to one tv... 6131 is single hd tuner, plug a external harddrive and its a pvr.

I just had my telus sat. tv instaled and agree with all other posts - installer was great and the TV is fabulous!
Question : we had star choice previous and our bedroom tv was connected to the same receiver as the tv in the living room.
the telus receiver does not have the extra jack in the back ?? Does anyone know if you can hook up a second tv to the telus receiver?
thanks

What model receiver did you have installed and what connection did you use on the other receiver.

the reciever from Telus is 9241. It has two cable lines coming in to the back that are attached to the dish. No other cable outlet is on the back ??
The starchoice box had an extra cable outlet so we just ram a regular cable line into the back of it for the other tv. You could only watch the same show but that was ok......if I can hook up my other tv that would be great before I decide to order another box.

thanks

:) Just had Telus satellite installed. Love it already. Can anyone tell me where I can get an Bell dish? I require it to use it in my 5th wheel. Or can anyone tell me if the Star Choice dish could be used with the Telus Satellite receiver?

simple
(1)go buy a hdmi cable and hook it direct from 9241 to primary hd t.v.
(2) go buy a rca jack to coax converter then use the red, yellow and white jacks converted to coax to your 2nd t.v.

The Telus installer will have the cables and RF Modulator to connect to the other TV's, just ask the installer when he's doing the job.

Telus Tv installers carry these items all the time.?

Bell TV guys, well most of them, would have absolutely no idea how to connect a Modulator to the Composite Outputs and will most certainly never be carrying them as part of their normal stock.

What would the Telus Tech charge the Customer for this item, and installation.

I just got my Telus sat install, i was with bell before, the installer was great by a Telus employee. Removed the bell dish and sw44. Replaced with there own branded.
Recieved 9241 and 6341, I like the colors better on the Telus branded boxes.

Interesting that you got a Telus branded dish. I had my dish installed Oct 17 and it is plain, no branding. The installer said that Telus was unhappy with how the branded dish looked. But that was 10 days ago, times change I guess.

Are the boxes not black like Bell TV?

Like others we have installed the Telus Satelite HDV-PVR not sure of the make. Before this we had Tivo on our satelite but switched to Telus because Tivo does not support satelite HD.

One of the features we loved with the Tivo was the ability to wirelessly download shows from the PVR to our PC and stream/replay back later. We could also store photos and stream them back to the TV - great for getting rid of unwanted company "..have we showed you photos of our last trip!!!..."

All we had to do was install Tivo desktop on our PC and a wireless arial on the PVR. We could also change channel selections using a Web PC anywhere in the world.

Question - Can we do the same with the Telus HDPVR

No, there is no way at this time to pull anything from the PVR to watch on a PC or otherwise.

Thanks for replying to me,
Do you know what the format the Telus PVR saves in, I know we can add an additional drive.

It's MPEG2, but also encrypted so you won't be able to play it elsewhere, even if you could get the shows to another device. TIVO records only the analog converted content, which you could still do with your Telus receiver, but it's a pain.

You could with a Slingbox. I am able to watch and control my PVR anywhere there's WiFi on my iMac, iPod Touch and iPhone. Should work the same with a Telus Satellite Receiver.

Just switched from Shaw/Starchoice to Telus Sat. I'm very happy with the equipment as well as the picture quality. Would definitely recommend the switch.
