Highly inaccurate.

Hmmmm!! The current temperature in Thorold is higher than the "feel like" temp by 5 degrees...and with all the humidity??

Well....Just to contrast all of the other posts in this thread. I love this interactive weather channel!!!! I will pay for it individually no matter what they charge, because I think it is very helpful and extremely accurate.

My final thoughts: SHAW DIRECT weather channel KICKS AZZ!!!!!:)

Have a fine day!

I like it! I'm not sure how much I would pay for it, though.

One thing to consider is this: for people who have to travel on business, it's very useful to be able to call up the forecast for locations you travel to from the favourites list. A very quick source of information.

Exiting the application is a problem. The Feature Manual on page 2 says, 'Use the "CH+" button on your remote control to exit the application and return to regular television viewing. You can also use the "CH-" or "Last CH".' In my experience, only "CH+" is working. The other options take you out of the application, but it goes right back into the interactive weather app. To be useful, all interactive applications should support the "last CH" button to get back where you came from. This is a bug, then, that should be fixed.

I'm less excited now. The winds the other day were about 25 gusting to 50 and on screen it indicated 7 throughout the day.
Yesterday we had the local station 50 miles away telling us there was a thunderstorm watch for the whole area(taking in several locations from the choice menu, so a large area) and the "interactive weather" continued to show sun, winds very light and no indication of TS's . Accuweather??:rolleyes:

I think the "feels like" line should also include "I'm being hooped again"

I have a feeling the poor accuracy has more to do with Shaw Direct only updating it once every hour, which is sorta ridiculous. Would it really be a strain on their system to update it every 15 minutes or so?

There was a huge storm in Camrose near Edmonton this past weekend with weather warnings for the entire area but this system doesn't even show any warnings!

with local tv channels they often break into your scheduled program with a weather warning, but that's only good if you happen to be watching one of the "local" channels which might be on the other side of the province for you. it would be great if you could set the favorite location into the interactive weather channel and have it automatically change to the weather warning in your area when one comes in. it would be sort of like the weather radio we have here where the radio will automatically turn on with a weather warning. ( that is of course if i lived close enough to the weather radio transmitter to actually hear the sound through the static ) that's why satellite delivered weather warnings would be ideal, you can get satellite nearly anywhere.
