Everything seems okay with my Sharp TV. No problems at all with WETK-DT 33.1 (rf 32).
I second that. No problem with my Sharp 32" 720P LCD.

I did notice the wrong EPG data on 5.2, but thats another issue. :)

Very strange, as the signal meter is normal for 33-1 at 70%. It just can't process the video properly and shifts the image to the left . No other channel is doing this (CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS 57-1 are all fine too....even 33-2,33-3 is fine), very odd indeed!

Anyone else got a Samsung TV and can check 33-1 to see if it's isolated to my tv and the original posters tuner (Mine is a 40" 1080P Samsung from 2008, don't have model with me right now).

The only problem I have on my Samsung 40" 530 is WVNY pixelating.

I noticed that CTV CFCF-12 announcing that they are now digital, are they really on OTA digital transmission ?

From the page, CFCF says:When will my provider carry Montreal's CTV HD Feed?
The answer to your question has to do with the fact that we are not OTA (over the air) with our HD feed. Although the feed is available to all providers, it is up to them to carry our HD feed or not. The only way to get an answer to this question is to contact your provider. If enough of their clients insist that they carry Montreal's CTV HD feed, they should feel the pressure to pick it up.

So, for those who only pick up CTV Montreal via OTA, CTV is your provider.
So I think all digital OTAers should contact CTV Montreal and "insist" that they broadcast OTA. After all, they are your television provider. :D

WETK 33.1 has been unwatchable on my Sharp Aquos for three weeks. The image flickers all the time and jumps up and down. The audio is perfect and the signal meter strong enough though.

I e-mailed VPT's engineering dept., but got no response. I call them and left a voice message today. This does not seem to affect all tuners. When watching the channel through Media Center on a PC, I get no problem at all.

If others are having problem, please make sure you call them.

Back in early November we started running a piece of data in our HD signal called AFD. That helps standard definition sets down convert letter box and 4x3 properly. This may be the issue.

I'll be testing it today and responding to them, I went over to another friend's house on Saturday, she has a newer Samsung HDTV 37" and there is no issue on 33-1. Very odd indeed.

Can you check your closed captioning, he told me to check if it worked but I'm at work presently. I also of course checked the aspect ratio (even cycled through, 16:9, 4:3, Just Scan and still the image is pushed over to the left and unwatchable for 33-1 ONLY, all other 33-X channels are fine). My signal is 90% which is darn good, so it isn't a signal issue. Also the the "pushed to the left image" is working just fine, even though I'm missing 25% of the image, it's totally clear.

Looks like my TV isn't reading the data properly, and neither is Codec_fan.

This is the kinda stuff I hate. Something is done at the source, and then the end receiver gets a problem. As if there is no standard for receivers. It's as if the industry can kill your TV before its time. This is the same reason I dislike Blu-Ray & HD-DVD. Those software updates. Your machine can be become problematic if the source company doesn't provide a software update. Or even a proper update.

If I started to have problems with my Sharp Aquos, what do I or somebody else do. My TV doesn't even have a USB port in case Sharp was ever to release a tuner update.

I think that the AFD is the problem. I have played around with the display ratio and the problem goes away when zooming or smart streching the image. Dot by dot displays a black screen and strech flickers. I will call WETK during the day and try to get an engineer on the phone.

I am able to run closed captioning on the channel, but that does not fix the problem.

I wrote this to them, just copy and paste if you like !

"I find it surprising and ironic that a local television station like CFCF-TV which is trying to advocate its viewers to support "Local TV" still does not offer OTA HDTV like the CBC, SRC, RQ and VT, but instead provides its HD signal to "pay for service" cable providers the very same people they are trying bill their services to ...just unreal !"

At this point, I'd be happy just having CFCF in digital standard def.

I've sent them many emails in the past weeks. None of them answered.

CTV always brings up their ATSC stations in 1080i 16:9 DD5.1 with a mixture of HD and SD programming, so CFCF-DT will be the same whenever it comes up.

They are? In Montreal? What's the channel? When I do a scan my CM7000 doesn't pick it up. Are they broadcasting yet, or have they just announced plans to?

Has anyone else noticed a lack of EPG from 'V' in the last few weeks?
I used to have the EPG for this channel, but now I get nothing at all with my MythTV. My Sharp LCD also doesn't show the current program.
