Oh, my 22.1 always maps to CBS, any reason? Thanks!

Interesting, as of early this morning I'm now picking up Global without difficulty! Looks like all that transmitter work was to improve signal strength.

For the first time, in a LONG TIME, I'm now picking up 2.1, 6.1 and 15.1 with my antenna pointed in the direction for catching mainly the US stations. I hope things stay this way, I now have *every* single channel coming in: ALL the local channels, ALL the American channels. Not missing a single one (ok -- can't get 17.1 and 35.1, but 24.1 and 30.1 from Sherbrooke work great as alternatives retransmitters!).

bugmenot: WCAX (CBS) physically broadcasts its digital signal on channel 22, but your TV or converter box should remap it to 3.1, its virtual channel. I'm seeing mapped properly on my Bravia and Access HD converter at the moment, must be your end. Did you try a rescan?

For a couple of weeks now the video freezes every few seconds, for about a second, on WCFE 57.1 & 57.2. Audio is OK on both, also no problems at all on 57.3. Anyone else see this? Thanks.

bugmenot; CBS on 3.1 & 22.1 here

@bugmenot

WCAX (CBS) broadcasts on physical channel 22 but is remapped as 3.1. WVNY (ABC) broadcasts on channel 13 but is remapped as 22.1. Try entering 13.1, it should remap as 22.1 and that should solve your problem (assuming that you can receive WVNY).

The intermittent freezing problem on 57.1 & 57.2 occurs only on my Bravia tv... RCA converter box and Panasonic dvr are unaffected.

Thank HDfan2, hmmm... Sony (KDL40S3000) here too. I tried a rescan & unplugging the power. If I find a solution I'll let you know.

Odd that it happens on 57.1 & 57.2 but not 57.3. Sometimes the audio is affected too, but not very often. I contacted the station today.

Sorry to re-visit this problem, but are those who were affected by the jerky/stuttery picture of CBC 6.1 still having the problem? I still am on my Samsung 46"... it was fine up until a few weeks ago. My parents have no issue on Videotron HD... seems limited to OTA

I had extreme stuttering problems on 2.1 and 6.1 for several months, only on my two TiVo premieres (not on my Sharp TV), but I haven't seen any problems on any devices since the second night of Mount Royal transmitter shutdowns (sometime last week). Throughout all this I haven't seen any changes to my excellent reception of all the other local and USA channels (including 22.1), on all devices. I'm located close to the Mount Royal transmitters, in the Plateau.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll try a re-scan or something. My parents have a Sharp also with no issues.

Sometime this week I lost reception of the local CBC stations : how can this be ?
They shut off their transmitters around midnight the other night, even Global.

@WalterP: I only get the stuttering on 6.1. I don't have it on 2.1. It is IMPOSSIBLE to watch Hockey with it stuttering, it's like the players are going back and forwards. I sent CBC a complaint on their "general webform", got an answer 2 weeks after I sent it saying that they forwarded it to engineering, yeah well...it's been a MONTH and 6.1 is still stuttering like mad with 80% signal on my Samsung TV!

This is nuts, it's been over a month...how hard is it to fix it? Someone needs to find out a telephone number and CBC 6.1 Montreal. I can't watch hockey like this!

@Yuprules : I have the exact same symptoms as you, and I also have a Samsung (it's an older one LN-T4669F). No problem on 2.1, big problem on 6.1 I even see the symptom watching the news or regular programming. It's like watching a webcast, where the refresh rate is too low, and the players move in 6" increments around the ice.

I'm just using the built-in ATSC tuner, but everything's been fine for several years up until last month.

I haven't had any issues with 6.1 with Sony, Philips and Sharp TVs, at all. No stuttering, no issues of any kind. Could this be local interference perhaps?
