Apple IIGS 2012-01-10, 10:23 PM Yes, but wasn't CBMT at a higher power level (at least > than 50-100 kW) between August-October 2011?
Or maybe moving their antenna to the higher position is the problem? Regardless, is there any news in regards to when they're going to boost their power?
ps - No problem with Global at the moment. Just 2.1, 6.1 and 12.1 (Radio-Canada, CBC, CTV). Glad I have zero problems with American channels, local Montreal channels are quickly proving to be unreliable as of late. :(
morningwood 2012-01-10, 10:23 PM Absolutely correct about CKMI. I was kinda getting them last week, but not anymore today. What's changed, the weather? Hardly. They really need to get with the program, confirm their move up the tower, and start acting like they're a real TV station, not Wayne's World broadcasting from their mom's basement.
downbeat 2012-01-11, 01:55 AM Over on the French forum, several members received confirmation messages from CBFT-DT that something was indeed wrong, and that repairs were made to the transmitting plant on Tuesday morning.
Apple IIGS 2012-01-12, 05:50 AM Is CBMT-DT linked to them by any chance?
interdit_450 2012-01-12, 08:30 AM For anyone having issues with CKMI please be sure to file a complaint to Global via the webpage form
http://www.globaltv.com/About/ContactUs.html
Please be sure to mention that you capture CTV, CBC and other locals without any issue. Complain often until it's fixed ;)
dorthensensens 2012-01-13, 10:24 PM Is anyone else having issues receiving cjnt?
usefulidiot 2012-01-16, 07:24 PM Anyone else have trouble with CTV today. I'm getting no/poor reception with an indoor antenna when CTV is usually a sure catch!
since when did FOX44 WFFF on 44.2 change programming - is that ABC WVNY programming on 44.2 now ?
dorthensensens 2012-01-24, 11:54 AM I'm still getting cw programming on 44.2.
Apple IIGS 2012-01-24, 07:34 PM Still seeing the CW network on FOX 44.2, haven't heard of any change.
Hopefully 15.2, 22.2 and 33.2 change though, a duplicate SD feed is useless (even on an old 4:3 CRT).
schoenbe 2012-01-30, 05:36 PM Are there any news on how CFTU's work on the transition to digital is coming along? Any dates when we can expect digital service?
intravino 2012-01-30, 09:30 PM Did someone else noticed a really bad picture quality on WFFF-DT 2 44.2 lately?
I know that it's 480i and the picture quality was always bad, but since Thursday, the picture is worst. It's looks like it's originating from the source.
WFFF Fox is fine but 44.2 is really bad.
Gordono911 2012-01-31, 08:30 AM Intravino,
I'm getting the same grainy stuff on CW.
intravino 2012-01-31, 01:57 PM I got this email from the director of engineering of WFFF:
Thank you, again. We made a few adjustments and picture is now improved. Thanks for watching!
I will verify it tonight.
AETGSA 2012-02-01, 04:29 PM Are there any news on how CFTU's work on the transition to digital is coming along? Any dates when we can expect digital service?
Heritage Canada's digital TV website says that the CFTU deadline for the completion of the digital transition is now set for march 31st 2012

Apple IIGS 2012-02-14, 01:48 PM I noticed the picture quality issue on 44.2 / The CW. It appears they digitally capture from an analog source, and then directly broadcast that video digitization. From what I could see, severe RF noise in the analog source got inadvertently captured (light static, moving lines, color banding). Looks like the problem is fixed.
Canal Savior seems to occasionally switch off their analog signal on channel 29, but there has been no testing on 29.1 during those periods from what I can tell. Likely they'll wait until the new March 31st deadline, or just indefinitely keep requesting extensions from the CRTC. I liked that idea someone was floating around about their moving to a sub-channel on Metro-14, that seems are more feasible solution.
HDfan2 2012-02-16, 07:42 AM Now receiving CKMI from Montreal for the first time.
SNR is 17
mille 2012-02-16, 11:01 AM I think that they move higher in the Mt-Royal antenna, near CBFT and CBMT, because i'm receiving WPTZ again, witch i lose when they move, in sept. 2011, on ch.15, in the backup antenna....
Yuprules 2012-02-16, 01:38 PM Whoa, Global Montreal CKMI 15.1/15.2 went from a hamster wheel to a NUCLEAR POWERED over the weekend.
I used to have 4 bars out of 10 for signal.
Since "about" last week (the last I checked it was last week) I've got 10 out of 10 bars (In Brossard)! Even stronger than CBC/SRC.
northbear 2012-02-17, 10:54 PM I got ALMOST stable signal in 15.1!
