I would like to welcome Antenna TV new affiliate for the Burlington Plattsburgh Montreal viewing area :)

WNMN 40.2 Antenna TV

http://www.antennatv.tv/affiliates/

It's like a contest, which TV station has the most networks?

40.1 main WNMN programming/RTV
40.2 WNMN-DT2 Antenna TV
40.3 WNMN-DT3 "My 40" (MyNetworkTV/Tuff TV)
40.4 WNMN-DT4 America One
40.5 WNMN-DT5 AMGTV
40.6 WNMN-DT6 RSN

I hope it works out and we can get the signal!!!

Intravino, any info on where will be located the transmitter and its power? I do not have it on my TvFool.

There are a few pertinent details in this Wikipedia entry.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WNMN
WNMN is the RTV-affiliated television station for Upstate New York that is licensed to Saranac Lake. It broadcasts a digital signal on UHF channel 40 from a transmitter on the WYZY-FM tower north of the village along the Essex and Franklin County line.

I don't think there are on because some Guys on an other forum said that they cannot get WGMU ch 39 and WMNM ch 40 was always very weak and impossible to get from Burlington.

I heard that in 90 days they should have everything worked out, W52CD, WGMU and WNMN. We will see about that.

As posted before, they lost W49BI license because it was dark for more then one year.

It's surprising how these Guys can rack up network affiliations but have no signal at all even if they are on cable.

I know that RTV cost about 15k per month to run.

Well, no CBMT-DT so far. Does it surprise anybody?

No, as downbeat said in post #2107 (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?p=1249226#post1249226), Industry Canada still has a moratorium on the Mount Royal tower. Until that gets lifted, CBC's hands are tied.

From what I have heard it is quite silly actually. I gather they are applying the same rules to green space as if the antenna was on top of a residential building where someone could have 24/7 exposure. Does IC expect a homeless person to pitch a tent just outside the fence or something?

If I recall correctly, a PDF presentation posted here some time ago stated that the RF field strength had exceeded limits beyond the perimeter of the transmission site, into the public park beyond. It is true that there are no permanent residences in the immediate vicinity of the Mount Royal Tower. The whole thing does seem a tad incredulous. Ah, bureaucracy -- if only it could learn to adapt rules to circumstances.

I dont think WNMN is broadcasting at all; even last week at the cottage (on the US border), I ran a scan and nothing came in that wasnt already there. Using a SBGH, I should be able to pick up a signal that's 40KM away.

Cheers, K

Burlington VT, no signal at all for WNMN and WGMU is dark, source: members from an other forum.

Kraven, the signal was so weak that people form Burlington were not even able to get it. Some guy more South on route 7 in Charlotte never got WNMN even with a good exterior antenna.

My comment about them getting Antenna TV network was a bit sarcastic, they have six network and nobody receive them. They said everything will be fine in 3 months, we will see.

Imagine, if they had CW, we would loose good programing in my opinion.

Hi All, watching Dancing with the Stars....and after days of heavy pix elation, the CFCF signal is now fine, except now I receive the channel on 51.1, no longer remapped to 12.1. No more macro blocking. Has anyone else noticed this change to there TV turner setup? Also I am receiving the signal at full strength, before about 1 bar less.

CFCF seems normal now, no more pixellation.

However for me, it is remapped to 1-0 instead of 12.1 before

weird!

Airbox, same issue for me. CFCF-DT is remapped to 51.1, right between Global 46 and WCFE-HD.

Very bizarre!

Same here, it is strange that 12.1 a locked digital station disappeared from the mapping. I remapped it manually and now it reads 1-0 and the station call sign is CFCF_AS ! What does the AS stand for ?

Still no PSID data on programming yet.

Ah good, then it's NOT my converter box at fault tonight (I have an Access HD converter, which has a glitch where sometimes channels 22 and 57 are remapped to "13.1" and "38.1").

I'm seeing CFCF on 51.1 too, with no station ID or program information. On the bright side the picture and sound are stable again...not great, but at least back to how it was before the problem started. I'm also able to switch the audio feeds on CFCF without a massive delay, so that's been restored too.

Speaking of the audio feed, I think CFCF has them reversed. I have to manually change it to "Audio 2", otherwise I get mono sound or mono sound with descriptive audio for the blind!

Still waiting for CTV to move to digital 12.1 at full strength, and CBC to activate their antenna on Mount Royal. All I can say is thank goodness we have digital broadcasting coming from the States....local digital in Montreal still remains a mess!
