I call CFCF and they said to me that they are working on their transmitter and later today or tomorrow they will be back on the air for CFCF-DTV 12.1

Cfcf dt is back for me. Albeit with degraded video. Was black for me earlier.

The problem on CFCF-DT was with the PSIP generator at the studio. They fix it this after noon.

The is very good chance that CBMT-DT will go on the air at the Mt-Royal for at best friday evening or saterday morning.

I'm glad that others have the same issues with CFCF as me. I have solid 5 bars but the lines of picture pixel and the sound stumbles from time to time. I had to set CFCF to analog to watch the news yesterday.
By the way I have 8 bay adjustable antenna with half pointing to US and half to Mont Royal. Over the weekend I took off the original two-way combiner and replaced it with Regal two-way splitter (5-1000MHz). This has added one bar to the reception of each channel and cleared up VHF low analog channels which lately had lots of electrostatic noise. Channel 2 is watchable now. Before it was not.

I figured that the CBC might test their new transmitters late at night this week. At 3AM last night I was able to get 2.1 here in Essex, VT with a signal strength of 59%. They were transmitting a PSID of CBFT-D. The signal locked nicely with no errors. However, every 5 minutes or so the error rate would go up sometimes accompanied by pixilization. The signal strength never dropped. Bodes well for the permanent cutover.

I've been getting solid reception, picture but chopping sound (1 second on, 3 seconds off). Since yesterday. Still persists on apr 13.

Since its seems likely that CBMT-DT will go live tomorow or shortly after how about we do a dry run tonight between 19h and 22h ? :-)

NO issues w/ CFCF here (12.1 or 51.1). As usual, CBC had superior picture quality than Videotron for the playoffs last night (am part of the lucky group who isnt affected by Mt Royal)

Am I the only one still having issues with CFCF? On my Sharp LCD the picture is back to normal but I only get sound 1 second every 5. The signal strength is good though, so I don't know what is going on. Could it be an encoding issue?

Still having problems with CFCF 12.1 in St.Laurent... Black without sound in the morning during Canada AM and blocky image with sound cutouts during the 6 PM news. Signal strength is 80%, same as it ever was.

I have the same issue where my CFCF-DT video signal is blocky but I get sound just fine.

I have a blocking image on CFCF-HD (12.1) on my laptop, but no picture or sound on the TV even though a signal is detected. It's from Nuns' Island.

Same issue in Ile Bizard. Signal strenght 95% image breaks up into lage and small pixel blocks. Audio interupts every 5 - 10 seconds. Thought it was fixed earlier this week but keeps recurring. Other OTA friends indicate that they are also having problems. I wrote to CFCF about issue on Monday...guess they are working on it.

Same problem here with CFCF-DT. Audio seems to fall out at times. And pixel break up (blocky) occurs in conjunction with the Audio falling out. Last night again, I watched the local news on their analog CFCF-TV signal. The TV signal meter is a rock solid 85% (34% needed for picture lock on my Sharp TV). Getting tired of this.

Also, check out WCFE-DT. My TV is now auto-channel locking to 38.1 and 38.2. But at the same time it also locks at 57.1, 57.2, 57.3. Signal Meter reads 90%. There is programming on the 57's, but no picture or sound on the 38's. It would seem something is up with WCFE-DT's re-maps.

The no-programming stations on 38 are probably the data feeds WCFE leases out for firmware downloads. Are you sure its 38.1 and 38.2, and not 38.6 and 38.7?

It's 38.1 and 38.2
