CBLN London equipment has been failing. There are at times where pictures just gos for a sec. Also yesterday the picture was not minty fresh.

Its probably nothing that couldnt fixed. But with DTV conversion coming. CBC may not be worried about it.

BTW, See the stats on CITY2 Woodstock & CFMT1 London. 25kW ERP! (Documention was prepared may 10, 2k11)

I wonder how CITY2 @ 25kW will match against WJW @ 600kW <:

You are correct. That would be CBLN in London. I am located in Woodstock.

The audio returned to normal today.

ScaryBob - if the problem returns I will play with those audio settings. But based on other comments I wonder if it was an equipment problem with the station.

Thanks for the help everyone.

WDWO-CA has launched a second channel, bringing the grand total to three channels... more religious content on the 3rd channel...
Just to follow-up in TCT Family that is being aired. Some old reruns of the Beverly Hillbilliesand black and white Robin Hood.

Starting tonight that very annoying issue has returned with WJBK FOX Detroit again.
I have a Samsung A550 series HDTV with internal Samsung tuner and have had this problem with only FOX or ION 720p OTA stations.

Apparently certain Samsung ATSC tuners are slightly defective and have a fit when "Repeat Field Detection" or "Film Detection" function is active on the TV stations MPEG-2 encoder, which causes a good amount of programming to be totally unwatchable with pauses and jerky video with movement. (ie: panning, walking, cars driving) Especially noticeable on syndicated HD content like Seinfeld, House.

Tonight at 730pm Seinfeld in HD is trashed with 'pauses... and catch up like' video motions. Also noticed the same problems in some commercials.
Another tuner, a Centronics ZAT502 external ATSC tuner suffers from the same exact issues. It has an almost identical tuner to my TV's internal one. A Tivax 480i output converter box with a LG tuner has no problems at all.

Did anyone else notice this issue in the past or now?

A list of the only stations i have seen this happen with:
WJBK FOX (Permanently up to about 1-1.5 months ago and now it's back again tonight :()
WJW FOX (Permanently to this day)
WTTE FOX Columbus via tropo (during HD Seinfeld)
WRGT FOX Dayton via tropo (During paid programming)
WVPX ION Akron (Terrible during HD programs from the first 1-3 days after they converted to HD this past spring, then totally perfect ever since. I think i remember reading somewhere about someone complaining and the engineer turning off the check box for Repeat Field Detection / Film Detection.
 The WJBK-TV jerky motion problem has returned just as bad as before again. There were zero problems until 2 days ago (Sat). Some setting was changed back to whatever caused this problem in the first place at the TV station. I watch OTA and wow does this ever ruin all the enjoyment of the local programming for those with certain Samsung ATSC tuners. Seinfeld at 1130p and 12a, King of the hill, FOX2 promos and local commercials that air outside of the FOX SPLICER network content were just fine late on Fri night. Something was changed on Sat morning at FOX2. Samsung LN32A550 LCD and the Centronics ZAT502 HD box here are suffering once again. I don't intend to buy another tuner or HDTV any time soon just to solve this problem.

Can anyone with a Centronics ZAT 502 HD or the clones (RTC DTA1100HD), (****wave DTV5000HD) external ATSC boxes confirm this with theirs?

I hooked the ZAT502 to a CRT tv in 480i SD mode with the crummy RF 3 composite coax connection and it exists there to.

Here's a pic of my ZAT502's system info tab if it can help anyone with this box or if newer ones also have this problem.

Box was purchased in Jan 2010 from Saveandreplay.

Hmm what's this?
WUDT (Daystar) in Detroit wants to vacate their ch 8 digital facility at 0.3kw ND and go back to their pre transition analog channel 23 at 15kw DA.

Good. Maybe I can get WJW again like I did before last spring.

Makes sense for WUDT if they can get the permission to do it... their signal took a hit on VHF 8

Noticed this evening (3 March) WNWO had stopped carrying the "America One Television Network". Now 24.3 shows a graphic simply stating "America One Television will no longer be seen on digital channel 24.3"
This came suddenly, with no reason given, AFAIK.

Since America One TV had the US franchise for telecasts of CFL games, this means no CFL over-the-air for Canadians in range of WNWO, and no CFL at all for American viewers.

? Maybe WNWO has run out of money and cannot afford to pay for A1 any longer.
Can't get WNWO here tonight to see for myself. WDLI 49 is hammering it to death currently.

If this is indeed permanent, there might be another A1 affiliated station soon on the air within reach of some. WHNE-LD 20 has applied to move to Detroit and carry America One.

America One is available free for rebroadcast, if memory serves.

As a US fan of the CFL who misses the games on CBET, this is sad news. One of the only reasons for me to turn on 24.3

You mean to tell me America One carries CFL games, I sure hope we see it carried in Detroit soon, I find it pretty pathetic that every year I have to go out to a bar to watch the Grey Cup. Looks like they carry some pretty good hockey too.

Anyone notice that W33BY is having some difficulty. Specifically they have a 'SLINGCATCHER HAS ENCOUNTERED A NETWORK ERROR' being displayed. LOL.

W33BY is fine now.

I wonder if they'll ever file an application for digital. Otherwise, they might be gone in a few years.

I am sure they will, they just probably will wait it out to the last minute and try to get the equipment cheap, heck in a few years they may even be able to get some ATSC equipment from the 90s used. It just hurts their viewership though as a lot of people only watch ATSC.

could it be?
has the sun gone down on London's first digital television station, 19-1 SUN TV London transmitter? Pardon the pun.
It is MIA as of this evening.

Now, where I get my fix of "Army Wives"?

Maybe weather related?! Long shot I know, but the area is getting hit with snow right now...

SUN Hamilton and Toronto are fine for me.
