I'm actually out in the valley in Abbotsford.

My TV does not find 10.1 or 42.1 at all, it reports no/weak signal.

Analogue 42 seems to be OK, but analogue 10 has extremely high distortion and is unwatchable. 10.1 was intermittent for me, so I wind up using analogue 10 most of the time as it was clear... until a few days ago.

I'm in a condo downtown Vancouver with line of sight to the towers on Mount Seymour and noticed Media Center reporting no signal on both 10.1 and 42.1 while the other Seymour based stations are fine. I was going to try all my tuners but since others are reporting problems as well I won't bother.

These channels have been down for at least 30 hours. Must be losing a fortune in advertising revenue.

It looks like it may be a feed problem and I am surprised that it is taking this long to fix.

I have the same problem you all mentioned with CKVU in Vancouver East. I don't know if it's related but I notice CIVT has an exceptionally strong signal today, like way better signal strength than CBUT and CHAN, and that doesn't align with the various transmission power levels among the local stations that I know of. Is there any chance that CIVT is upping its transmission power lately?

I just did a rescan to see if it was fixed... my TV didn't detect 10 analogue at all this time around, I guess the signal was too bad. As I mentioned earlier, analogue 10 came in fine with a clear picture previously.

42 analogue is clear as a bell for me now. Maybe they're working on it, as I did have static before.

Analog 10 is still there, - my signal on 10 has always been weak, snowy picture, but it is there.

10.1 and 42.1 have both always been rock solid for me in nanaimo. Both are still reporting no signal. Good to hear that it's not on my end but pretty annoying.

Channel 10 analogue is back with a barely watchable channel. I noticed during my scan this morning that the TV paused at channel 20 for 5-10 seconds, and again at one in the forties. Maybe it is detecting a digital signal but not adding it as it senses there's no picture. I didn't notice that with my previous scans.

Just a reminder that this thread is for reports and discussion of current technical and operational status of the OTA stations in the area. CKVU-DT and CHNM-DT are still having troubles with their signals.

Here's a thread in which CHNM and CKVU can be discussed regarding their future in broadcasting: Citytv & Rogers OMNI DTV Transition Status (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=111403)

cheers

Danomac, 10 analog has a picture here in East Vancouver, but poor quality, and it's always been like this in my location (low balcony facing away from TV tower). So I would say - there are no or very little changes in 10 analog status.

But there is totally nothing on 10.1 and 42.1 - black screen, with signal meter showing good signal, i.e. TV tower transmitter works, but it's running on "neutral gear" so to speak - there is no programming delivered from the studio to transmitter.

I tried to find any official or unofficial info on the web about changes to local 42.1 and 10.1, any notices - there is NOTHING.

Both Omni and CityTV's analog signals are up.

Looks like it's just the HD thats down. My TV (Panasonic) detects a signal but puts up a message saying no program feed or something like that...they are probably just having equipment problems, I wouldn't panic.

I haven't had anything on digital 10 and 42 for several days. I get good signal but just a black screen. Analog of both stations is working.

They have almost a year left to solve their problems, so lots of time.
Nice to know it's not a problem at my end.

I asked my contact at Rogers about the problem today and he wasn't aware of it but said he would pass it on to the folks in Vancouver. If I hear anything further, I will post it here.

10.1 and 42.1 are back but both are running 35-40% signal strength are are quite broken up. At least progress is being made.

Both 10.1 and 42.1 are back sort-of.

10.1 is blocky/breaking up, but it says the signal strength is only 10% or so.
42.1 is blocky/breaking up with a signal strength of 80-90%.

Both 10.1 and 42.1 are back with 85-95% strength for me, but both are blocky unwatchable messes.

Earlier in the afternoon, both 10.1 and 42.1 were back but very blocky.

Now 42.1 is back fine, but 10.1 is black.

Yep, I just checked for myself and CHNM-DT seems fine now, but still no luck with CKVU-DT.

Yep, 42.1 is back. 10.1 is 20-30% signal now but black. It's half-fixed.
