Zapperman you can get CBUT-DT from Chilliwack? If so that's great. What kind of setup do you have?

Yes, I can get it, but some days it's borderline. I get CHAN-DT consistently and strong (as well as the 2 Bellingham digitals that I never watch). I have an original CM4228 (just good fortune to acquire it recently...) mast mounted on the roof, a Winegard 8275 preamp, and about a 70' run of RG6.

I'm working on another DBGH build (taking my time this time) to hopefully pull in CIVT as well as strengthen my CBUT reception. We'll see how that goes ... and I'll of course post the results.

Anyone else having problems with CBUT-DT? My reception of it has dropped right off the last couple days, with only occasional sporadic peaks where I am able to briefly pick it up. CHAN-DT has been stable and stronger than ever for me...

CKVU-PT (CITY) will remain on Salt Spring Island and do a flash-cutover of channel 10 from analogue to digital with no transition.

Where did you hear that they will flash-cut? Last I heard Rogers announced they were planning on going on air in 2010. Did I miss an announcement (I have been rather busy lately)? Will they be flash cutting in 2010?

Actually Roger I think I'll have to take that back.

Maybe it was an anomaly in IC's database but for quite awhile there was no transitional channel 47 for CKVU, just the analogue 10 and the post-transitional 10. Now I see that a transitional channel 47 is showing again for CKVU.

Today for some reason CIVT-DT 33.1 is not showing up in the IC database.

Has anyone had problems lately with CIVT-DT and CBUT-DT? They have always been marginal for me, but have disappeared entirely over the last week. CHAN-DT is stronger than ever for me (by about double), so I'm wondering if it's possible that this is somehow affecting my reception of the other channels.

No changes in them from my LOS vantage point, but there sure has been a huge amount of humidity hanging in the air this week so I'll bet that's what is killing the signals up the Valley. Has KVOS been weaker for you too?

No KVOS and CHAN have both been steady and extremely strong for me ... being in this fringe area can be very challenging - it seems the slightest move/ change can really affect the weaker channels. I suspect I may be getting some sort of multipath interference (or similar?) since both CBUT and CIVT spike up then down to 0 constantly over the course of a minute or two. I noticed the same thing on my DBGH build (vs the present 4228).

Further to Post #29, CIVT-DT (CTV Vancouver) 33.1 has reappeared in the IC database with its status changed from OP (operational) to AU (authorized & may or may not be operational) but this time with a listed ERP of 12.6kw. Since they've never gone off the air I assume they've either instantly bumped up their ERP or are preparing to do so.

has anybody lost CHAN? It dropped out during the news, CBC is fine and CTV has an above average signal.

My CHAN has been fine. For me, CIVT-DT has dropped off entirely while CBUT-DT shows up only from 7:00 AM through 6:00 PM, then nothing all evening/night.

Also, not that I care that much, but I noticed KVOS-DT was totally gone last night. Not sure if it's back yet.

CHAN came back just after the news was over. Ended up doing the same thing today as well; signal drops around 6:15 and back up at seven or so.

Since they've never gone off the air I assume they've either instantly bumped up their ERP or are preparing to do so.It would be my guess that they upped their power before I put up the new antenna because all of a sudden 32.1 appeared while 8.1 was missing 95% of the time. 2.1 was always pretty good. Must say that I've experience drop-outs on all the channels...I'm not a techie, but its like the transmitter burps and knocks out the signal.

I hope they haven't upped their power - CIVT-DT has not shown its face for some time now for me and would mean my chances of getting it are pretty much hopeless. I'm still hoping for the possibility of a new repeater, as postulated in the following thread:

A small change I have noticed is the display info for the two stations now say 1920 x 1088 rather than the 1920 x 1080 I saw for some time not sure when this change happened. But it is the same on my computer regaurdless of software I use to recieve the stations?
