I was wondering about CIVT's power increase as well. What's with that..."no news is good news" :(

I gave them a call in Vancouver and they said Victoria is budgeted for the equipment in 2009 and Victoria will be OTA DTV before the Vancouver station.

I was scanning my parents television today sharp 42in and I found 72.11 a TV Japan. Dont' know if this is a test channel or not. Oh yeah they live in central richmond without any antenna.

That's Shaw Cable, not broadcast television. Shaw leaves a few digital channels unencrypted and NHK is currently one of them, so you don't need a cable box to see them, just a QAM tuner.

Any news on CIVT's ERP change. I read that it was supposed to take place sometimes before Christmas - boy that would be a nice present.

Nope, nothing yet. I haven't seen anything about it on the CRTC or Industry Canada sites so far.

I'd gladly trade you 24 and 38 for 33.2 (CTVHD). Any updates on their power boost? Last couple of days it appears that 33.2 and 22.2 have about the same signal strength...38-41...no picture! 22.2 was 54-62, but appears to have dropped. Again, could be weather, engineering, or my old antenna :(

I have been getting Chan on 22.1 from the start and never been able to get it on 22.2 and I also get ctv on 33.1 which does remap to 32.
When a trop skip happens and KMYQ dtv 25 remaps to 22 comes in I loose Chan that should end when global does thier upgrades:)

The latest run of my IC data pump still shows this 900W ERP:

While down in the U.S. the FCC database shows this as the granted future digital allocation moved to channel 32, complete with 33kW ERP:

I'm in South east Van and have never received CIVT digitally, but since late Fri Nov 29 am now getting a 100% reliable signal with no dropouts, on rabbit ears

I haven't seen any difference with CTV's signal. Anyone else?

My RF spectrum analyser shows no increase that I can see.

Ok thanks - I definitely didn't see any change intravenus, so maybe its because some nearby trees have lost their leaves?

I did notice a change in CIVT-DT on Sunday, I was able to receive it for several hours, but now it has dropped out again, Global and CBC have had a constant signal the entire time.

Have people had any problems getting CHAN in Vacouver lately? For a while I was getting a blank screen but full green bars on signal strength. Today I added CHAN-DT to my media center again, and now I get 1 red bar. I'm using 22-2 with an assigned frequency of 8.

I have not experienced any change in Global HD's signal in the last few weeks. All has been great here in Victoria.

Last week, after trying every combination I could think of, I finally was able to get a picture for CHAN-DT Global in Vancouver on Vista Media Center by entering 8 for VMC's "Digital channel" and 22 for VMC's "assigned frequency".

ditto on the PSIP problems. levibluewa, thanks for posting the setup for Vista Media Center I'll have to try that later. Global displays as 8.1 on by DTV converter box but 22.2 on my Samsung TV so I wasn't sure which setting to use.
