Today after a scan and a second and third it still comes in the same a new activity happening now I have no lock yet but I am getting VSB sync and AFC lock with a steady signal of what my system calls 10% on the PC unit. Anyone else getting any of this activity?

Is 53 the actual channel that you are picking up or is it the remap. UHF53 is CIVI-Victoria analogue. The corresponding digital is UHF23. What way is your antenna pointed?

This is a digital tuner only and the antenna is pointed towards the sea tac reception direction and it is still happening sometimes jumping to 30 plus % on the PC can't explain this.

I haven't seen any 53.1 activity today from where I am, but my CM4228 is pointed at Mt. Seymour.

I also lost the CIVT signal and had to reposition my indoor antenna to pick it up again.

UHF53 down south is a translator tower out of Joyce, Washington. It broadcasts KIRO Seattle. I jut got home and did a scan and it didn't show, my antenna is pointed at Seymour.

Well I have to say the mystery is unfolding now as I have the 4228 always pointing in the direction of Mt Constitution and when I want city10 anolog I move it a little SE just a bit and the image is best that way. So There is a little slot for left or right movement at that place and in that little area jumps to life the 53.1 I will have to find out if that signal reaches Friday Harbour clearly a bit of it is coming alone the same path as 35.1 and 19.1 a good tropo would be great to see what comes in. Thanks for the info mdelleman.

CBUT-DT... frequent audio dropouts since 5:30pm, maybe sooner? Signal strength and SNR is normal.

I was wondering what is the best antenna for the buck or in general for HD signals..
I'm new at this, and have a house so setting something up should be no problem..

I read a report about antennas and it concluded that the Channel Master CM 3010 was a decent antenna.. anyone agree..
Anyone know where to buy them in the lower mainland..

Also is a signal amplifier any good?

Thanks in advance, your help is appreciated.. I know you guys know your stuff..

Thanks, Doug

I haven't noticed audio dropouts on CBUT-DT, but I do seem to get a lot of audio dropouts or momentary low audio on CIVT-DT. My signal isn't that strong but I rarely have video problems.

Can someone please post an update as to what is expected in terms of near future anticipations for new ota channels coming online in the Vancouver area? I am currently getting CTV and CBC (both coming in strong and clear all the time btw unlike what others have claimed with sound problems and weather etc). I remember reading on here that Global should be coming April 08. Are they still on schedule? I believe ChannelM is going to delay their plans until some gov't thingy is finalized.

Can someone please provide a short update of what you know?

This is the info I got on the phone today.

Delays are not due to hardware but more to do with a Gobal Tv issue.

The hardware is on order and will be install once it arrives as the alocation of space for the items have already been approved.

The power is going to be greater than cbc even though it is listed lower than that right now.

And just to repeat they are getting so many calls about OTA it is overwhelming to them. :)

They plan to meet the April deadline give or take a little.

The reason the power is so low according to a tec at Global is there is interference with a near by anolog station and upping thier power interferrs with that other stations broadcast
