Everyone. I am in a rush to get to work, but I received this email below to another one of my email addys (but not the one registered to Bell).

Subject line was: "Bell Notification: Account Update Needed"
Also the Bell logo was not in proportion. Also the link was to a shop(dot)annafuchs(dot)de address.

Bell has a notice on their web site
http://www.conferencing.bell.ca/en/privacy/customer/
Fraudulent e-mails, claiming to be from various Bell companies (including Bell SympaticoTM, Bell Mobility and Bell ExpressVuTM), have recently been sent to our customers. In a practice commonly known as "phishing", some e-mails asked customers to supply credit card or banking information. These e-mails may also have contained virus-infected files.
If you receive an e-mail communication from a Bell company that does not conform to the above rules, do not respond to it. Contact us to report the e-mail.

It is common sense these days to suspect anything like this regardless of how good it looks. I ignore emails from all companies, even ones I deal with. If they legitimately need to contact me, they will call.

Just to clarify, instead of "..... from Bell" you of course meant to say "..... from someone claiming to be Bell" :)

Bell has had a warning on their website for at least a month that this phishing exists. I've bookmarked their "Check Service Status" page, handy when email connections go down. You'll find the warning on that page.
