Since Win7 release candidate is out and Microsoft offers it for free for 13 months (it expires June 1, 2010), it becomes a legitimate OS to try as an HTPC OS.

It is known that it supports many more formats than any flavour of Windows before. For example, it plays out of the box all but the most obscure DivX/XviD encoded files I have. It still doesn't do MKV, even after Haali installed (DMO vs. DirectShow playback).

I haven't tried much else with it.
If you tried Windows 7 as your HTPC OS, please share your experience.
