A N95 will prevent you from inhaling droplets/aerosolized Flu viruses is someone was coughing sneezing around you.

Yeah you can't get swine flu from eating pork, but regardless I am still going to avoid it.

Considering there are around 60,000 annual deaths attributed to the influenza virus shouldn't you be wearing one 24/7.

the mask will probably be good for getting uncrowded seats on public transit.

No I not going to wear one, unless I'm sitting to someone who is coughing or snotting, I can't afford to get sick from any col dor flu Virus actually. And Yeah I know 10000's of people die from the the annunal flu in North America, but they are mostly elderly. Plus I usuallly get my flu shot. (which is hit or miss I know)

IANAIDS :) but I was under he impression the masks were for people already infected. Less chance of spewing your spit and snot all over your surroundings.

OTTAWA - Pork is perfectly safe to eat, the World Health Organization and Canadian pork producers insisted Sunday after Canadian officials confirmed that pigs at an Alberta farm were infected with the H1N1 influenza A virus. (http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/090503/health/health_flu_cda)

Why travel then? Your plane could crash. Even if yours odds are extremely slim, it's still a possibility. And why drive your car? You could get killed.

China bans Alberta pork after virus infects pig herd.

http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2009/05/03/china-haltspork.html

I suspect they are banning the pork since it is uncooked and safe handling procedures may leave a lot to be desired. Which could lead to more infections. So the moral is properly cook your food. But that is true of any meat or fish.

I'm at Edmonton Internation Airport now. Hopefully my connector flight huries up I can get the hell out of here.;) A regular seasonal flu can make any 2 year old sick. Hope the little girl gets better ASAP.

Seriously though I'm not worried, only seen person (a Asian Woman) wearing a mask at Pearson.

The girl, whose age and hometown were not released, has been in an Edmonton hospital since April 30. She is in stable condition. (http://www.edmontonjournal.com/Health/Young+girl+city+hospital+with/1563924/story.html)

She'll probably be alright. The quarter million pigs being slaughtered in Egypt (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jKSGQdCIc06cb7skNFj7QOB1OR3g) won't be quite as fortunate... :(

I think you can still get infected though you may be wearing an N95 mask. The issue is your eyes. If an infected droplet from someone's cough lands on your eyeball, that's all it would take.

About China, I heard a report on the news last night that a group of foreigners is being locked in a building(hotel I think) and they won't let the visitors leave the building. Talk about rights violations, eh?
