dcorreia 2011-08-18, 01:59 AM Antenna1 Queens Quay Aimed at ceiling:95% Signal, 87% Quality
Antenna2 Queens Quay aimed towards Buffalo: 100% Signal, 98% Quality
Antenna3 Winston Churchill/Britanna aimed towards Buffalo: 96% Signal, 91% Quality with few minutes of going crazy on the quality but seems stable now.
Marbles_00 2011-08-18, 02:02 AM Yep, can confirm a lock on 19.1 here on the Hamilton Mountain, with attic mounted SBGH antenna. My Samsung TV reported a 23dB signal.
ota_canuck 2011-08-18, 02:02 AM TVO DTV 19RF is ON :p
on my samsung: 80% , 28db
on my cm7000: 100%
No program info, but time is correct
JmanGTA 2011-08-18, 02:05 AM Any idea what the Zap2it code is for TVO? It's working fine for me in Sagetv with HDHR but no guide data. Audio is out of sync though.
Edit - just remapped it to the old analog ID of 10119
ota_canuck 2011-08-18, 02:10 AM Tropo is getting pretty wild tonight though, so I'll have to confirm TVO signal strengths later on when the tropo settles.
I'm getting most most of these tropo Cleveland Ohio channels and a tropo 10 analog /A\ channel and [43RF] 9.1Erie PA channels right now. This extremely strong tropo has wiped out my CW23, MyTV49 and WNED 17[43RF] This is the first time I've ever seen TuffTV that is showing up on this tropo 9.2 Erie PA LP-channel.
dcorreia 2011-08-18, 02:16 AM WNLO and WNED Are offline it seems.
ota_canuck 2011-08-18, 02:23 AM They are likely being bumped off due to this extreme strong tropo
majortom 2011-08-18, 02:24 AM Yeah I think so, last two nites in a row they've both been off the air.
Here's a TSReader dump (http://www.wuala.com/whosurbud/Documents/TsReaderDumps/Aug18th2011/) from TVO in Toronto. Lookin like Video ~ 12.3Mbps, with two audio PIDs, one at 384 Kbps, the other at 192 Kbps...
No way they're being bumped off the air by interference at my house, I'm only a couple miles away from GI. They're both way too strong.
They've gone off the air the last two nites in a row at the exact same time, like clockwork.
ota_canuck 2011-08-18, 02:26 AM 12.3Mbps? maybe a subchannel planned in the future?
dcorreia 2011-08-18, 02:28 AM They are likely being bumped off due to this extreme strong tropo
That would have to be some very serious tropo as majortom in Buffalo cannot get any signal.
ota_canuck 2011-08-18, 02:34 AM yup, very strong if I can get this half crocked low power private 12kw wlep-lp station from Erie PA. Not even sure if they have a broadcast tower :p I can't even find a tower height for these guys.

TVO 19RF is still burning in here
dcorreia 2011-08-18, 02:42 AM I expect to still see RF19 still good in the morning even for you but only time will tell.
WNED (which is also offline with WNLO) has been confirmed in the other thread offline through Verizon FiOS.
nakedgord 2011-08-18, 02:50 AM An audio subchannel would be nice but I'm rather disappointed that TVO didn't get permission to put TFO on a sub-channel for OTA Francophones.
As an aside thanks for the FYI on WNED and WNLO wacking out. They're the only US stations I pull in and I didn't know if something was up with my antenna, my pvr or if, somehow, TVO-DT was affecting the signal.
majortom 2011-08-18, 02:56 AM who knows, they may be holding back to sell some bits later on for Mobile DTV...
They could catch a few extra bux revenue someday that way.
Here's a SNR snapshot from the crappy PC based USB tuner here.
CHCH and CBLT were runnin neck & neck at ~ 23 db SNR

Phil81 2011-08-18, 03:05 AM Okay, TVO Windsor analog 32 transmitter has finally at last shut down. (at 3:01 am)
And a few minutes later now on air in ATSC.
Decoders:
Samsung LCD: Displays as 32-1 with no ID of "TVO" or anything and no program info. Aspect and format: 480i-4:3-Multi
ZAT502 HD: Cannot properly map it, box stuck it as "62-1 WWJ-HD" right next to actual RF44 62-1 WWJ-HD entry for some reason. Not mapping to 32-1.
Zinwell zat-970a D2A box: Maps to 32-1 and decodes properly with great signal. No ID or program listing.
Their clock time is off by approx 5 hrs.
Signal level: Very good, comparable to or slightly exceeds that of nearby Global DT22. Can pick it up indoors with a uhf loop antenna quite well. Could be tropo help though have to wait and see.
EDIT: Checked TVO Chatham 33-1 again and it does have "TVO" as ID now but has the same problem as TVO London and Kitchener had when they first signed on. (DC-II Stream type) The D2A converter box says "no program" for it. First explained here.

dheian 2011-08-18, 03:13 AM Okay, I've added TVO to my Myth box after scanning it in. The xmltvid is 10119, but I'm not geeting any TVO listings from Schedules Direct.
Any Schedules Direct users out there seeing the same thing?
majortom 2011-08-18, 03:15 AM I use the Zap2it scraper for Myth listings.

Jase88 2011-08-18, 03:22 AM Paris 28.1 is still working for me
Actually, silly me forgot that I had rotated from Paris to Toronto. Despite being close, the beamwidth of the XG-91 is tight enough to completely kill Paris.
dheian 2011-08-18, 03:30 AM @majortom since I pay for Schedules Direct, I'd like it to work. :-)
And to keep this on topic, our TVO signal is strong at Yonge & Eg.
OTANUT 2011-08-18, 04:40 AM TVO 32-1, Windsor is coming in with 7/10 bars up here 60 miles from the transmitter - albeit with the help of some pretty decent tropo, no doubt. Will have to wait till this aftn to really see what kind of signal strength I'm getting here. Still no PSIP and in SD. Should we expect HD soon on this outlet?
