Hi everyone,

I just bought the LG 42pg20 with a native resolution of 1024 x 768. What I don't understand is how a 16:9 panel can have a native resolution of 4:3 format. I understand the principle of down-scaling when it trys to play content of 1080p or 1080i. But how can it fit a 4:3 format on a 16:9??

Is horizontal pixel bigger than vertical pixel?? I noticed samsung and panasonic entry model 42 inches plasma have 1024 x 768 native rosulution.

There is nothing which states that a pixel has to be square. Also any incoming signals will be scaled/converted to the native resolution of the TV:

These display are also funny in that - many take resolution of 1360x768.

Text is slight fuzzy but sure readable - video is great and you maintain correct aspect ratio which is very important if you're hooking up a PC to it.

I used 1280 x 768 when feed with 1024 x 768. I notice the aspect of 1280 x 768 is better, more natural, less compressed like. The con of doing it is that the image doesn't use the whole screen.

The video are very nice, but I noticed that moiré are apparent on a lot of scene, maybe is the source that I'm using. Because the screen is plugged with my PC and the source is DIVX made by the famous AXXO.

I will try some DVD that I bought to see if there's moiré. Keep you informed.
