Some of the HD channels are repeated elsewhere on the dial, but I don't think there is anything missing, at least in the Toronto area.

There are two other channels which, while not actually HD, are in SD Widescreen if you set your box to output 1080i:

195 DW TV (news from Germany, alternating German and English)
163 WTVS Detroit (PBS, but it is the 56.2 feed which has different programming from the regular WTVS feed, unlike what the onscreen guide says)

Thank you. Most of this information was already available in the following FAQ, but you have some pricing that I didn't have. I edited your post to correct NW-HD.

Yea, I think in order to get any of the other channels in the HD Specialty Pack, you'll need the SD version of those channels. It shouldn't be a problem if you're a VIP customer.

Perhaps a clarification that the price you indicate for the TMN/HBO channels is part of the bigger TMN movie packge that includes a bunch of TMN related SD channels.

So is Speed HD part of the standard HD channels? Rogers has it listed as so on their website but also indicate it's on a free preview right now.

Speed HD shows as free preview in the guide.

The Movies Package - $22.95/month
536 - HBO Canada HD
537 - The Movie Network HD
540 - Mpix HD

You really ought to include

308 - TMN/HBO On Demand
309 - MPix On Demand

since they are included in this package and contain some HD programming. The On Demand stuff, and esp. the HD On Demand stuff, is what makes the TMN Package most valuable to me. Even though I have an HD PVR, I rarely program anything from TMN since On Demand already has most of what I want to see.

Just checking now, in HD On Demand, there are around 20 movies and dozens of episodes of HBO / TMN series like Californication, Dexter, Entourage, True Blood, Brotherhood and Stargate Atlantis ... plus all 6 of Little Britain US.

That's 50ish titles you can start right now -- way more value than a few more PPV channels of appointment TV.

When I was looking at the cable HD offerings on the weekend, the latest I saw indicated that Speed HD would be part of the HD Specialty Pack for 8.95.

Great post, thanks for the list. I think it has been pointed out that this list applies to the Toronto Area, but maybe should the title be changed to Rogers HD Toronto area - Here's what you get.

If people are using the list as a reference, it does not completely apply to all Rogers areas. Rogers Ottawa subscribers do not get 521 E! HD or 500 Leafs HD.

Up to you guys.

Thanks

I don't see that. Speed HD launched in November I think. www.rogers.com/hd clearly includes Speed HD logo as part of the "free" channels.

Specialty Pack is HD versions of TSN, Discovery, A&E, Raptors TV, ABC Seattle, CBS Seattle, NBC Seattle, Fox Seattle, WGN, Showcase, National Geographic and HDNet.
