Thanks for the advice. No HD would be a show stopper for me. Microsoft does seem to be doing their best to win back the hearts of consumers with 7. Might be a good time to beg for the 1000th time :D

With Sage the UI can be customized. I use SageMC which is an alternative UI that was designed to look almost exactly like the XP version of Windows Media Centre. When we switched from XP MCE to Sage it was pretty much seemless for my family.

I have the HD-PVR working with Windows 7 Media Center with minimal "hacking." DVBLink is the provider of the drivers to get it to work. I have been flawlessly recording premium commercial-free HD movies for over a week and it's great.

I am using Hauppauge WINTV-850 USB ATSC tuner in Vista. It needs to hack the registry to make it work in Canada. However, Windows 7 seems changed the registry for MCE. I wonder if there is same way to hack it. And does anyone know if the driver for Vista can work with Windows 7 or not?

Peter, thanks for your post. But that method is too complicated for me. I think I should wait.

Lunear:

Yeah, the methods I've been using up to now are pretty complex. FYI, there's a new one that is "almost there". Basically, just run a batch file and ATSC will be detected and you can manually add channels. It's equivalent right now to the Vista experience.

What I'm still working on:
- Getting scanning to work
- Allowing you to import US guide data for better border guide listings.
