I have a problem with my receiver. Sometimes it'll randomly restart itself. Also, when recording live tv if I try to rewind and play back the video stutters. My already recorded shows will play back fine however. I have the 6141.

I've a 6131. I added an old external enclosure & drive. After 6 months the enclocure ate drives.
I bought a new WD Elements 1TB to replace.
Should I format winslows; or
hook straight to the 6131?

thanks in advance

Just connect it to the 6131. When it asks if you want to use/format it, select yes.

No, the 20" (51cm) is required for correct 2 sat reception.

I am wondering if the harddrives for the 6131 can be programmed to go into sleep mode.

Will the 6131 ever get remote PVR?

I was wondering if anyone can help me out with this.

I had my HD receiver installed and activated today. It was working fine for about 10 minutes, and then all of a sudden, I lost picture while watching an HD channel. When I'm on an HD channel, all I get is a black screen, but I can hear the audio. When I'm on a SD channel, I get no picture OR sound.

It's weird, because I can see the guide and all the channels there (but none of the previews show up in the thumbnail on the top right corner; it is black)

I have tried everything; switching from component to HDMI cables, resetting, unplugging, etc. I know it's not the cables because my SD box works fine.

Does anyone know what could be causing this, and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Sadly you will need to call Bell TV.

It might just need a re-hit but i have a bad feeling it might be the receiver has died.

If it requires changing, they, Bell TV should be able to get a replacement out tomorrow, providing someone is home.

It sounds like you got a lemon.

Lets hope the new one lasts a bit longer.

Well, haha, problem is solved.

In a last-ditch effort, I called Bell and had them re-hit the box; fixed the issue immediately.

So weird.

Spoke too soon; problem is back. I'm so sick of this.

It's possible that it's something as simple as a bad connector somewheres, or it could be the receiver... or anything inbetween. I've seen some seemingly minor things cause some of the biggest headaches.

Hello All; I'm new to this forum and have run into a problem with my 6131 receiver. I bought it used with a 200 gig EHD about four months ago, and within a few weeks, the EHD died. I replaced it with a used 250 gig EHD I had lying around and all went well for a couple of months, then that one died as well. I bought a six month old 500 gig EHD from a friendly geek, and it worked well for a couple of months, then one morning we turned on the TV and the display said that it had to reformat the EHD, so I told it to go ahead. It did so, but now refuses to recognize the EHD. When I unplug the EHD and let it sir for a while, the receiver will recognize the EHD, ask for permission to reformat it, reboots, downloads the EPG, then asks for permission to erase the EHD. Once this is "done", it refuses to recognize the EHD. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

It turns out it must have been a bad receiver. They replaced it and everything's back in working order.

Took the EHD to the geek today and he found that, for some reason, the partitions on the hard drive had gotten all messed up. So he wiped the drive and installed new partitions, and as of the moment, all seems well.
