LOL, As we all know the CRTC doesn't decide anything by itself, let alone something like this.
The final decisions, will be made by the broadcasters, and presented to the CRTC , and as always we will be lucky to hear anything before the technology is obsolete.
The point I was trying to make is, there is more of the country besides the urban areas that thios OTA cutoff affects. As one can see from the CBC proposal, going from over 600 to under 100 transmitters, that is a large area of canada that will go without basic service as we know now.
I do not think that a private broadcaster, with much shallower pockets, will decide to convert all the LPTV transmitters to DTV, as such satellite suppliers will pick up the new customers.
