WFXP is the most directional of the Erie stations, so it's least likely to cause interference.

WBXZ-LD is a low-power station. LPTV stations were not included in the repacking process and will file separately for new channels, if necessary, at a later date.

Thank you for your email, the article which mentioned this was inaccurate. We are not dropping our on-air coverage. We will continue broadcasting on channel 4. Thanks once again.

I see on the fcc list for the repack of over the air tv stations it says your station will be no longer broadcasting over the air.its a shame that a major network in the buffalo area will no longer be seen by the poor people who can't afford cable.why can't you continue to broadcast over the air as a sub channel on channel 23 attenna

so does that mean channel 4 in buffalo that uses 39 right now going to be using vhl 4 to broadcast

Like a boss.

k to me the articale was inaccurate that they will continue to be broadcasting on channel 4

Yup, from Friday's Buffalo News:

WIVB isn't 'going off the air' - The Buffalo News

"We’re not going off the air," explained Mancuso. "It’s a technical change called channel sharing, where both stations will come off the same tower and transmitter instead of the two different towers and transmitters we have now. Viewers will still receive WIVB on 4.1 and WNLO on 23.1."

Great, but what did Mr. Mancuso believe people would think seeing WIVB going off the air on a FCC document and the station not issuing any statement?!? The Buffalo News story is the only info I can find on this.

WIVB will still be available OTA

Techinically WIVB as a licensed OTA transmission on rf 39 is going of the air. They will share WNLO bandwidth on rf 32.So it will still appear as 4.1 WIVB but with reduced bandwidth or quality as compared to now.2 HD and 1 SD on one 6 mhz channel on rf 32 WNLO current frequency. Also WNLO signal covers less area to southern tier compared to current WIVB signal. The WNLO contour is some 5 miles less.So cash for less coverage and quality. Why did they not sell WNLO and keep WIVB transmission site ?

because its easier to receive channel 23 in Ontario than channel 4 so they are looking at a bigger amount of people to receive there channel.

Ratings in Canada don't raise any money for WIVB.They will probably apply to change WNLO call letters to WIVB after the switch.

You do know which country Casino Niagara is in ! I have only seen brick adds on WUTV and WNYO.This has got them in hot water. Also Canadian companies cant claim any ads on a US station as a business expense.

Why would you even care what facility they keep?
Frankly, the station corporate owners don't even owe the local stations an explanation, much less you or I... is none of our business. It is their business, to do whatever and however they see fit for them.

WBXZ and Global Toronto on RF 17

Will WBXZ be forced off rf 17 ?.Transition rules indicate less than 2% increase in interference.Niagars Falls and Fort Erie area will be interferered with by WBXZ.
