Yes. You can have the same or different antennas, point to different locations then combine them. You can pick the antenna where it performs the best relative to your location.
Combine antennas has many advantage - rotator is not required (very useful if you have multiple TVs in a house), I can switch channels as if there is one antenna in the roof etc

There is a thread in 'Combining antennas'...

just wondering how do you access the spanish audio on qubo channel? is it a new channel that appears or do you change some internal settings on your tv to get the audio feed.

The channels in and out right now, and an infomercial, so can't test.
But on OMNI, I hit "MTS" to get 680 news on the secondary audio.

If you have kids that are into Hannah Montana type of shows, they can be streamed for free on Family's website. Disney Channel series can be seen OTA on ABC Saturday morning's (Some markets carry it on Sunday's).

Programming for the tween/preteen/early teen age group is pretty sparse now on regular network television. With all the specialty channels that have gone on the air over the years, cartoons and scripted shows for this age group have for the most part moved to specialty channels and is nearly non existent on network television.

Cartoons on RTV

Just caught some cartoons on RTV 2.3 (WGRZ Buffalo). He-Man (vs. Skeletor), and then a Dick Tracy cartoon with Hemlock Homes; also showed a Lassie episode- not cartoon- looked like 1950s.

Really cheesey cartoons, but fun to watch with my son. Interestingly, all the commercials were adult oriented- medication lawsuits, insurance, diet food, money making schemes.

Kids' TV OTA in the GTA

If you're hesitating on going OTA because you're concerned your kids might not have anything to watch, rest-easy. There is way more kids' content available than you will feel comfortable allowing your kids to watch. Hours and hours each day.

A Tip: Go on Internet Explorer and place the links to a whack of TV network website in your Favourites bar (PBS Kids.com, TVO Kids, KidsCBC, qubo, Treehouse.com, YTV). These networks websites have lots of games, video clips, and even full episodes).

Between your OTA TV and the Web, you'll be able to raise happy, round, couch potatoes.

List of OTA content for the GTA (and elsewhere)

51.2 qubo on ION (WPXJ)
-good stuff for little kids all day long. Qubo is much like Treehouse, except its shows are probably appealing to a wider age-range than Treehouse. Kids older than Treehouse TV age will still enjoy Qubo.
-"Qubo Night Owl" shows 80's cartoons overnight (He-Man, She-Ra, etc).

23.1 WNLO TheCW
-Saturday morning cartoons (Toonzai!). Mostly Japanese cartoons (Bakugan, Dragon BallZ, etc).

- Plays qubo content as Saturday morning cartoons.

- Cookie Jar TV - Saturday morning cartoons for kids (Sabrina the Witch, etc)

- Disney/Family Channel - related shows on Saturday mornings.

2.3 WGRZ Retro TV
- Lots of really old stuff that is neat to see (cowboys stuff, Lassie)

Kids CBC - All morning, excellent stuff (Busytown Mysteries, SuperWhy, Bo On the Go)

PBS Kids - All morning and afternoon - all excellent entertaining and educational stuff (Sid the Science Kid, Word Girl, Cat In the Hat)

17.3 WNED PBS Think Bright
A fair amount of kids stuff too. Lots of good stuff.

19.0 CICA TVOntario
TVO Kids - 70% of TVO is children's content. Lots of quality stuff

26.1 and 26.2 TCT
Weekend days sometimes there is some kids cartoons - Religious themed.

36.1 CITS
Sometimes chilrens stuff - Religious themed.

29.1 WUTV Fox
Can't remember what, but there is ususally 30mins to an hour of kids stuff in mornings

OTA, HD7697P, CM7778, Rotator, CM3218, TiVo, HDHomeRun
Apple TV, Netflix, Teksavvy, Unblock-us, Wind, MagicJack

That's a great list, HWP - many parents will thank you for that!

Folks, any more kids shows to be added for the GTA area? I'll add the two replies and any further ones into a table of all of them for easy lookup.

According to the schedule, RTN is now running some retro cartoons Saturday mornings. (I haven't checked myself yet.)

The new 29.2 country network tv station is showing kids programming Saturday morning. Not sure of the ful scope of the program schedule, hopefully they will also have some weekday mornings.

All U.S. OTA channels have to provide a certain percentage of E/I kids programming according to FCC regulations.
