PVR Recording question...

Does anyone know how I can record a program manually without highlighting the show on my guide

I'm asking this because it looks like there might be some rebranding going on with METV soon and the program guide for MeTV is unavailable.

Just wondering if there's an option to set the channel and time on my PVR. I looked it up in the manual and i couldn't find it.

Please note I don't have a gateway Pvr, but rather the model before that.

The PVR model before the Gateway I believe is the DCX3510-M, which uses the HD Guide. I have two of these and unfortunately there is no way to set a recording except from the guide. And you cannot set a recording from the guide if the guide doesn't have a scheduled program listed. For example, you cannot set a recording for a slot listed in the guide as "No current program". This is a major shortcoming of the HD Guide that Shaw has been reluctant to address.
