When will Cogeco come out with a new receiver for 4K? I can't tell by the regular HD Pace receivers. Sold out. Can't buy from Cogeco or Best Buy and I don't want to rent a receiver. I also plan on buying a new TV to replace my CRT TV and will be buying a 4 K TV but would also like to buy a 4K receiver while I am at it

Thanks

Considering the number of channels that are still offered in SD with Cogeco, I wouldn't hold my breath. :) I'd love to watch sports in 4K, but there would have to be a lot of other things available to make me upgrade my TV (I still have a Panny Plasma) to an OLED 4K , my receiver etc. I believe the eventual adoption of 4K will be very slow by the cable companies and even slower by the vast number of cable customers. I want to cut the cord so badly, I can taste it. I already stream about 50% of the content I watch on my TV. I don't trust Cogeco to be ahead of the curve. They are a big, very slow dinosaur

Yep...there are a few left..lol..I know quite a few older folks who still have them. I gave my old plasma to an old retired gent and his wife, set up a modest surround sound system for them etc. Then when I visited them, they were still watching mostly the SD channels. I had to laugh..old habits..

Cogeco connexion launches TiVo 4K service

Cogeco Connexion is proud to introduce a new TiVo 4K PVR allowing its customers in Quebec and Ontario to access ultra-high-definition programming, for an even better television entertainment experience.

Customers can now enjoy an ultra-high-definition image with four times the resolution of high-definition TV, with four times the level of detail, allowing much higher frame rates, enhanced colour and wider dynamic range.

To fully benefit from the 4K experience, customers can now subscribe to the TiVo 4K service, a multi-TV receiver making it possible to record up to six programs simultaneously as well as view online content thanks to direct access to Netflix. The device also offers the flexibility to access content not only on TV but also on tablets and smart phones, anywhere in and out of the home.

Cogeco Connexion is also launching TSN 4K, providing 4K coverage of live sports action featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC and more. New 4K channels will be added to the Cogeco Connexion portfolio in the coming weeks. Customers can also access 4K content from over-the-top providers such as Netflix.

Switch on detail like you’ve never seen.
Now you can enjoy sports, Netflix and more in 4K with the all-new TiVo 4K PVR.

A 4K television is required to watch 4K. A single access fee of $10 is required for certain 4K channels. A subscription to the SD/HD channel corresponding to the 4K channel is required. 4K content is not available with all channels and varies in time.

I got my Arris Tivo 4k receiver installed last night in chatham here.Video setting on the box is 2160p all the time.Tsn 4k had soccer game never came in,i called in and she said i never had 4 k box,I had to explain to her i did.Picture is even better for regular hd channels.Overall its awesome picture until they figure it all out will take time i am sure.Box itself is smaller has no fan like T-6 tivo had, hopefully it doesn't get too hot.

HERE WE GO... Dude just left after installing my Cogeco/Tivo 4k, as soon as he plugged in the HDMI I get a load buzz from speakers, he ran all new wires from the poll. Also, did he bring the wrong box??? I have the Tivo T6.....Told him this was no good and that we need to try another box or something, he had to go and said he might be able to bring another box by later, this is before I discovered that I think I have a wrong box. WTF

Well I went to the Cogeco store yesterday to discuss adding the 4K to my plan. Unfortunately it would cost $25 per month to add this to my current plan. I find it tough to swallow when there is currently only one channel with very limited programming available....have to say that I'm a little more than disappointed.

The only possible "upside" would be to upgrade to the Ultimate Mix package for 95/month. But that would include both the 15/month rental fee of the new 4k box and the 10/month charge for the 4K programming. Seems like a lot of money for so little added benefit.

Still have the buzz but as for the picture, I am really impressed. Keep in mind that you would need a large tv to see any difference. Watching the Leafs in 4k...even though the guide says basketball is on :) No mosquito noise or compression artifacts and that is what ruined my picture on my 174" with my satellite dishes (I need every pixel I can get) , it's a nice clean picture.

The OnePass I would think is stored on the box itself. PRobably just takes a few moments to set the new box up for that. I'd recommend removing the info from the box you are getting removed before they arrive though.

They have to come and set it up because it involves setting it up for your account, line-up and also connecting any minis to look at this box instead of the old one - that is if you have any minis. There are probably other reasons too.
