According to Rogers Q&A, she will be forced to the new software.

HDTVaddict,

A suggestion. Just so you don't pop one last blood vessel due to Rogers you may want to consider disconnecting the incoming coax from that PVR until you're finished viewing your archived programs. You know, just in case Rogers is wrong (again) and the Navigatr update gets pushed out to you and wipes all your recorded programs.

I'm hoping (maybe naively) that the download for the new guide MIGHT solve my problem.

But I have time to be on this website right now because tonight my stupid PVR decided I couldn't watch recorded programs at the moment (the same problem I've been having for a month) - and it decided this right in the middle of evening busy show time. I can fix this problem by rebooting - but I sometimes have to reboot up to 6 times in a row to fix the problem - and I certainly don't want to cut pieces out of my recordings by rebooting during the time of the evening when there are lots of shows recording - so I can't use my PVR between 9 pm and midnight. Thanks Rogers.

I think it's being rolled out by area, so you may not necessarily get it tomorrow.

Odds are they will do outskirts of the major cities first, this way if any problems, the major metropolis areas (Toronto, Ottawa, London) don't have major issues and flood the CSRs.

Sooo - Aug 6 for the new guide in Toronto. That's good - because I'm stillllllll hoping the new guide will solve my playback problem. Today - I had to reboot 11 times. That @#R$@%$#'s.

From the link, read the first word carefully.

57,

Note that on Rogers Navigatr FAQ page (link in post #1) it says:
"and will be completed by August 11, 2015."

Think they've bitten off more than they can chew?
They should take smaller bites.

I just got this abortion on my Nextbox.
It's terrible.
They couldn't have made it worse, except if they made it impossible to continue using the old software.. . never mind.
My recordings now take up lots more space, none of them load the supposed 'poster art' that's supposed to display in the grey boxes. I can't make the 'manage recording' menu work, result: all my recordings are displayed in chronological order without folders. They will not sort alphabetically, the option seems to be available: it simply doesn't work.
Yeah. It sucks. I'm trying to get some technical support, maybe I'm just stupid. The 'OK / Select' button has no impact on the menu choices and it appears to exit the menu without registering changes. Thanks for making it not work, Rogers. Good job.

Maybe Mississauga is the 'lucky' beta test municipality. They certainly present this whole thing with that double-think optimism you'd expect from a giant uncaring monopoly. Faceless servants of evil. Look forward to it Toronto. It's going to revolutionise your TV watching experience by making you consider Netflix and piracy one more time.

It has already been reported by one user on the Rogers community forums that his hard drive was wiped clean of all recordings! Time for another Rogers circus to begin!

I consider that a "feature". I don't like it when they load up the screen with all that kind of crap.

I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...
