Multiple HD/PVR in the same house

Hi Folks,
This is my first post, but let me start by saying that you are an amazing community... I have been looking over for several weeks, but i just decided to join

Here is my question:
My roomates has a PVR Box with Rogers, that he has in his room.
I just bought myself a nice TV and i would like to have the TV on it as well...
Can i use as well a PVR in my room without affecting his programs ? If so, can i have just a HD?

I basically want to be able to watch TV without bugging him...

Thanks !

Unfortunately that wont be possible. Its 1 TV per PVR for now until new cisco HD box will be introduced to be integrated with PVRs.

not true

You can get a new PVR and hook it up to your TV no problem.

You can't hook up the other PVR to your TV and watch something else.

yes. As long as you have a different box then your roommate, you will get to watch whatever you want. Just, you won't be able to record shows unless you buy a DVD Recorder or VCR.

Yes, if you purchase your own PVR.

Yes.

As long as you have your own terminal or PVR, you should be able to watch what you want, without interfering with his TV. Here, I've got one 8300 HD PVR and two 4250 HD terminals. Of course, you may have to pay extra for the 2nd TV, unless you have the VIP package.

I have 3 HD PVR and one Standard HD Terminal.
I can watch/record different shows on all of the PVRs while watching a show on the HD Terminal.
