Can Cisco 8642HD step-through recordings frame by frame?

Hello,
I just upgraded a 10 year old SA 8300HD PVR to the second generation Cisco 8642HD PVR. Whether I am using the old or the new remote, either way, I can still pause the recorded image, but I can't find a way to step forward frame by frame as I could with the first generation PVR. If one is viewing a critical event in a sports recording, it is always great to be able to step through the sequence of a football fumble or the World Cup skier straddling a gate. Am I the only one missing this feature?

The RTN firmware does not allow for Frame by Frame advance on Rogers either. The Slow-mo is also not as slow as on SARA and there are several other differences. Although the following thread is about Rogers and the 9865, some of the differences are outlined there. Please do not use this as a direct comparison because it's about a different provider and a different STB firmware, however, there are similarities and I provide the link as a reference "for information only."

Thanks 57 for your reply. Even though the OS has changed, you would think that something so basic as Frame by Frame would be retained. How can sports fans live without such a feature?
