Hi As a 9242 owner, I would like to add my 2 cents.
I have a 9242 and have the Video On Demand channels but they are at 1001 and not 1000. I believe they used to be at 1000 back in the day before IP Video On Demand was launched to other Satellite receiver models. They have since vacated the 1000 channel range because 1000 is reserved for the IP VOD service (9241 and 9400 only).
Now, just to let people know, I've learnt from reading on these forums that the movies are stored on a portion of the hard drive of the PVR. I remember I had an issue in the past and I had to format my PVR, when I was done formatting it, the channels were still gone but I left it alone for 24 hours and when I watched TV the next day, they were all there. So you might want to give this a try as it worked for me. But mind you, if you format the hard drive, you will loose everything so only do this when you are ready to.
