From what I heard Luken was using Ku band for those 2 channels as a special feed to one of their stations that no longer requires it now that they have installed C band equipment.
Actually since January 1st, 2016 Luken had stopped paying, end of contract with PIT. The teleport PIT kept the channels up there just as filler until a new user was found for the channel space. REV'N was replaced by a channel called EEE. The only way to get these channels now will be with a 10 foot C band dish pointed at 83 degrees. They just moved to this satellite for C band and will be leaving the 87 degree C band satellite too July 1st.
To be clear, Luken is moving the 87w CBAND mux to the 83W long position.
simulcast with same parameters for now, untll July 1.
I have never had an issue with either one using the 7.5' antenna.
So while 10 ' may be required in some locations way up North???
10' is not required where I am.
Yes on July 1st 87 W will go dark ... Luken has advised all affiliates to now move to 83 W.
I heard that 6 full transponders on the 87 W bird have been leased to provide internet services to Nunavut. This might be why Luken is moving over to 83 W.
Tuff TV has left AMC 9 and is now on 97W Galaxy 19: 11867 V, DVB-S 22000-3/4, mpeg-2.
