I probably will try to stick to the 22" range since thats nice and large comapared to what i have now, and is a common but affordable option on the aio. I would also like at least an i3 processor or a6 , not bottom rung just so its a slightly future proof. it is just a family pc. no hardcore gaming or heavy streaming likely besides youtube. Dont want a laptop just because i dont want the kids thinking they can up and walk around with it. I do like the idea of the lenovo or sony models that have battery backup for the option of moving around though. we had a laptop and it got stepped on and abused.

I'd check out NCIX they have stores in the Lower Mainland and a good online business. They will build it to your specs for $50. They also have a number of pre built computers. This way you get the parts you want and don't get stuck with a computer that is hard to upgrade. You can also look at their forum for ideas in your price range.

Some use this as a guide to pick your parts.
