Sound constantly cuts out

I have Rogers cable and the sound constantly cuts out -- especially on the weather station and the music channels.

I can bring the sound back by using the channel button to switch channels then switch back, and the sound always comes back on.

What's going on?

These sorts of issues are often related to a poor signal in your home or in your neighbourhood. Call Rogers and have them check the signal at your home/neighbourhood, while tuned into a problem channel. They can check remotely. Here's an FAQ which may help you check signal yourself (It's pretty old and I'm not sure what equipment you have). I've moved your post to the Atlantic Forum.

FAQ - Motorola STB Helpful Links, Tips

If you have an older piece of equipment, it could be a problem with the box.

It might help if we knew what equipment was being used, how it is connected and the affected channel numbers.

Thanks for the info. I'll read that later.

I'm not sure of the equipment . The cable guy hooked it up for us, newer box and all.
