I am the VP Marketing at Stingray Digital Media, and am happy to answer every and all questions regarding the Galaxie and MaxTrax services (as well as the KARAOKE Channel VOD for that matter!).
Your feedback and comments on the channels are always welcome.
Now that Stingray controls both Galaxie and MaxTrax, it makes sense for us to merge the two services into one common Galaxie-branded service. Over the past few months, we have been modifying the programming on the Galaxie and MaxTrax channels so that we can do a seamless transition to an all-Galaxie line-up.
As you likely know, Bell and Videotron customers get 45 Galaxie channels. The 20 MaxTrax channels are virtual duplicates of 20 Galaxie channels offered with other distributors.
Over the next few weeks, there will be some changes to the names of some of the channels, and the MaxTrax brand will disappear. What is important, is that the same great programming is found at the same channel position.
The only actual change in programming will be the MaxTrax French children's channel called Musique Bout'Choux which will be replaced on September 30th with the channel Eclectic Electronic.
The only real change is the name of some of the channels, and that they are now all called Galaxie instead of a combination of Galaxie and MaxTrax.
I hope you are enjoying the 40 commercial-free continuous music channels. Expect more from Galaxie in the coming months, including a new website to be launched in October.
