Logitech Revue

I've been running a Logitech Revue that I brought in from the States. It's been great. For the first few months it wouldn't stream Netflix but then inexplicably it started working. Worked swell for a month or more and then just as inexplicably, it stopped working with Netflix.
Neither Netflix or Logitech can tell me why. Anyone else have one?

Now that this unit has dropped to a more affordable $99. Has anybody used it much in Canada and what are limitations? I like the idea of this unit can't seem to find much on Canadian content. I am assuming like everything that we are limited again bynbig brother on most of the features of the unit.

Any feedback?

I purchased one of the Revue units at the new $99 price - just received it yesterday.

I have a Bell 9242 PVR and, during setup of the Revue, I selected the equivalent Dish receiver (VIP-622). I am able to use the Bell PVR guide via the Revue and also access my PVR recordings for viewing. It doesn't seem to do the "ideal" integration, where it can also search the PVR recordings on the PVR device, but everything works very well so far... the integration is great, with no need to switch between a bunch of different devices to watch your regular Bell TV.

During setup, you must select a location/ZIP code. Unfortunately, and as expected, only numerical codes (US) are allowed... so I just entered one for Niagara Falls NY. So far I think the only thing this affects is the search functionality - searching for TV shows that are on in your area and for your provider. Since I'm able to use the Bell PVR guide directly through the Revue, I'm not too concerned with this aspect.

In any case, I'm very happy with it so far. I haven't explored everything but the one thing I was most worried about (Bell PVR integration and functionality/usage) works great.

Another nice thing... with the Revue in Live TV mode, you can pick up the Bell PVR remote and use the Bell Receiver and your TV the same way you always have... the Revue doesn't interfere with the functionality at all (even thought the Revue is "ON" all the time - no power button). Then when you pick up the Revue keyboard and access the Google TV functionality, it comes up seamlessly. This is great since other family members can continue doing what they've always done with the existing equipment, without being affected or needing to learn something new because the Revue box is connected in series with the other components.

One aspect I haven't figured out so far is that it does not seem that you can change the DNS servers that the unit uses to access the internet. So, if you want to use certain services to access US internet tv content, there's no means to change the DNS servers directly for the device... you would need to do this in your router instead which means, potentially, that all devices on your router/network would be using the revised DNS settings... not really ideal.

Browsing the web works fairly well on the device... better than other web browsing experiences I've had so far on the TV.

In any case, if anyone has any questions please let me know and I'll do my best to answer. I'm definitely much happier with the functionality than I was expecting to be, considering that it's not for Canadian consumption. Hard to beat the new $99 price point too! Looking forward to the Honeycomb software update when it becomes available.

PS - ordered mine through amazon.com
